Within a few hours of Matt Gaetz withdrawing himself from consideration, President-Elect Trump nominated former Florida Attorney General, Mrs. Pamela Jo Bondi to be ATTORNEY GENERAL of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) next year...

President-elect Trump announced Thursday evening that he's nominating former attorney general of Florida Pam Bondi as the next attorney general of the United States.

Trump's latest Cabinet pick replaces Matt Gaetz, the former Florida representative and nominee for attorney general, who on Thursday withdrew as Trump's pick for the top prosecutor after the "distraction" his nomination had caused due to a swirl of allegations about paying women for sex.

"Pam was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, where she was very tough on Violent Criminals, and made the streets safe for Florida Families," Trump wrote in his announcement.

"Then, as Florida’s first female Attorney General, she worked to stop the trafficking of deadly drugs, and reduce the tragedy of Fentanyl Overdose Deaths, which have destroyed many families across our Country.

She did such an incredible job, that I asked her to serve on our Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission during my first Term — We saved many lives!

We'll soon know how "tough, fearless, and aggressive" Ms. Bondi will be with draining the swamp, based on how much howling and anger emanates from corrupted Democrats and Republicans in high places.

If the Democrats don't like one of Trump's picks, it makes me think they know it's not someone they can bully and browbeat into looking the other way.

They know it's someone who will go in and do their job and not another Garland or Holder.

You're 100% correct. It was pointed out at one time how William Barr was EASILY confirmed as President Trump's Attorney General. He got 100% of Republicans and even 3 Democrats to vote for him.

None of these accusations matter, because incoming Senate Majority Leader THUNE assured President Trump he will allow "Recess Appointments" if Senators block his nominees.

That's why I'm so surprised by Matt Gaetz throwing in the towel. He was going to be AG shortly after January 20th.

The quick nomination of Bondi was surprising. Either this is a plan being executed, or Donald Trump could sense Matt Gaetz's panic building, and had a #2 ready to go.
