I may be confusing, but hasn't he got form for slagging off Judges?

I think it was Engoron who fined Trump $10,000 for contempt in the business records case.

Yes, I get it now.

Most...odd?

Your judicial system is a bit of a mystery to me.

QUESTION: how far would Trump’s antics have gotten him In England?

I doubt we’d be where we are in this trial in England.

Seems to me Churkan has had enough and us pushing boundaries to get this done.

QUESTION: How does releasing these in Public at this time do anything to speed things up?

Most if not all of this is privileged hearsay. 😊

How does that speed up the trial proceedings?

You said the judge released the documents because it speeds up the trial. What makes you think that?

My opinion was expressed to a lawyer.

You are strongly pro-Trump.

You won’t accept anything I say — logical or not.

So, there is no point.

Your opinionated answers are as valid as anybody's.

I'm not the only one that will read it.

So, How does that speed up the trial proceedings?

You said the judge released the documents because it speeds up the trial. What makes you think that?

I think it actually slows down the proceedings. 😀

That is how it’s supposed to go.

But I’ve been here a long time and know better.

I guess you refuse to back up your own words. OK, sorry I asked. 😊

There may have been some substance to the idea, but Oh well.

Moving the case forward at a faster or slower pace would have some reasoning.

Now, first of all, this is all happening because Trump took this all the way to the Supreme Court.

In case you didn’t know, or conveniently forgot, Smith is the one who asked for it to be sent up to SCOTUS.
Smith did that during the DC circuit review of the immunity and before they even ruled on it.
The DC circuit denied Smith’s asking and decided to rule themselves.
This did two things.
1) It gave them the power to decide against Trump, which they did.
They ruled immunity only applies to presidents other than Trump. 🤡
2) It delayed the trial even though they expedited their decision.

What the heck? Why would you think Smith would send the case to the DC or U.S. Supreme courts? Trump was the one to do so claiming anything he does in office is not illegal due to immunity.

The DC Supreme Court ruled he had no immunity. That was Trump's claim which he took to the DC court. Immediately after that ruling, he filed to go to the U.S. Supreme Court. After they delayed getting it completed, they sent it back to Chutkin to determine whether any acts were official. Smith refiled removing particular conversations with Pence. Again. The delays were due to Trump. Smith did not cause the delays.
Even the release of these docs. Trump filed to have the judge hold them until Nov 15th. Which delayed the release until she ruled.

His DC appeal

Trump had originally been scheduled to face trial starting on March 4, but District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has officially delayed the trial while Trump’s appeal on this issue is pending.

Roll Call

Then appealed to U.S. Supreme Court

February 12, 2024
Former President Donald Trump is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hit pause on his federal criminal prosecution for allegedly conspiring to obstruct the electoral certification three years ago.

Lawyers for Trump made the request Monday, writing the justices that they are preparing a petition for certiorari, or a full application for the high court to take the case. They said they want the court to indefinitely delay the trial at a federal courthouse in Washington D.C.

Smith's exit strategy is hit or miss unfortunately for him, and the court. 😀

Well, Trump could have had his day in court in March. Proved all this "lawfare" and looked like a hero!

Unfortunately he wants to delay as long as possible. Hmm.. oddly enough, if he can delay and on the off chance he's elected, he can just make it all go away. Weird, for a guy yelling he's innocent, he sure doesn't want to go anywhere near a court room and does not want any of the testimony of his lawyers, campaign, the VP to be seen or heard by anyone.

How could he have done all that in March?

The privilege and hearsay hearings would have taken even longer then.

There is no straight line when it comes to Trump.

You have to “out game the game”.

Smith seems like a very intelligent straight forward — no nonsense kinda guy to me.

As frustrating as this must be for him — I do think he has figured this out.

Not someone I’d ever want to go up against.

She had a nice schedule laid out. He could have proven his innocence and still been a hero before now. That would have looked so good to the public. Much better than all this delay and terror of anyone seeing anything related to his actions.

Did they ever publish that schedule? Like maybe she failed to foresee the obvious delays?

What the heck? Why would you think Smith would send the case to the DC or U.S. Supreme courts?

I said Smith asked for it…

“In an opinion on Dec. 1, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan ruled that Trump is not entitled to immunity. Trump appealed that decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which is scheduled to hear argument in the case on Jan. 9. But Smith came to the Supreme Court on Dec. 11, asking the justices to resolve the immunity question without waiting for the D.C. Circuit to weigh in.

Yes March 25, 2024 as a trial date. The beginning schedule of motions, etc started way back in August of 2023. He fought all the way from that moment. And with Scotus 6 month delay, we're now here.
