The fact is Justoneman people do not wish to live in a utopia no matter the form of government in place.

Because we are imperfect beings.

Put us in that sort of environment and we would simply make a mess.

Happily you dont have to read her, you can type in the fountainhead to see a free version of that old movie and the three part Atlas shrugged is on Amazon, not a great watch, but helpful if you want to grasp the concepts behind objectivism.
link to the fountainhead

It does have Gary Cooper in it so well worth a watch on that basis alone!

Great advice ADVISOR.

My dad was one of those body conscious workout types. He ate walnuts and almonds at breakfast with his egg and bacon. Then got greens and veggies with other meals. He boxed at 112" in Golden Glove and rarely was above 140 at any time. I on the other hand "seefood" as a kid. If I see food I would eat it. I got bigger than him by 12. and was not a fat boy. In fact I tried gaining wt in High School for football and couldn't. I moved to wrestling. Then I kept a nice 175 in College but the eating habits after sports were hard to break. Dad was going EAT LESS... I am now.

100% right there.

That is why we need God, but that is for another thread.

Well, we do like to create control constructs.

I suggest that we need each other as much as we need the concept of God.

Else we would never get anything done for a start.

Why don't they want to eat meat? If they don't eat meat all the beef cattle/pigs/chicken will go extinct. Eat meat and save the animals. Can somebody explain to me why these vegans want their food to look like meat products, burgers/sausages/ mince ?

This "vegan" movement has gotten completely out of hand. Either we nip it in the bud asap, or suffer their continued atrocities against humans and vegetables.

Real patriots need to stand up and be counted and not be shouted down by these monsters.

And going by the artwork and simplistic illustration, possibly aimed towards children.

How else are you supposed to get the pupils of woke to understand? We've got ~2 generations of questionable graduates of K-12 that'll probably NEVER grow up having been enabled, coddled and groomed by childless, male hating liberal teachers.

"You could navigate your entire academic career and NEVER have a conservative instructor."
-Ben Shapiro

Do you find that to be a problem, that young minds are only taught to swing a certain way?

Whenever we get around to discussing the actual root causes, we'll need to spend a considerable amount of time dissecting the teachers union and the publishers of text books and materials.

I think BOTH need investigating, and action taken against them, for grooming and radicalizing our children which has ultimately landed us where we are now.

I dont know mate I've only really got two young minds to be concerned about myself, aka my own kids.

And discussing swinging a certain way with other children would be apt to put me on a list.

My daft attempt at levity aside the world is indeed a fecked up place to exist.

But i dont think anybody is trying to make my kids go vegan.

The wee mans more apt to be happy will "Vulcan", a big Star Trek fan like his Da.

Anyhoo "Live Long and Prosper".

Or in a vegans case long enough to get to the vitamin supplements.

I'm an "almost vegitarian," but do dairy and fish. I would feel like crap without animal protein. Even traditional livestock animals occasionally as a reward. I love beef and it's hard to give up. *But* because it's an animal rights thing I have all types of "sustainably and wild caught" copouts to deploy.

I really just need to know the animal wasn't a miserable factory farmed tortured animal. Grass fed, ACTUAL antibiotic free, free range, and organic. It might be psychosomatic, but you actually feel better. Like refined vs natural sugar.

It really is funny to me how much like a Portlandia episode my meat choices are.

Sadly that vid wont work for me.

For the record, I really do have no axe to grind with anyone else's food choices and, I think if you are coming from an animal rights place, then no one could mount a reasonable argument against your choices.
My Ire was entirely due to the lies contained in the article.

As you probably know, we raise cattle (yes, grass fed and antibiotic free), but I could tell you a thing or two about antibiotics and why they're used which would probably surprise you. We don't use them because we don't need to, but if I told you the proverbial 'rest of the story', it might mess up some of your cop-outs. Oh, and don't even get me started on Angus vs. other types of beef (that one would blow the socks clean off your feets!)

Our chickens are all free range too (like run around in the pasture, kind of free range). But here again, I could tell you some stories about "free range" which might mess with some of your chicken dinners. (We don't sell chickens though...and candidly rarely get to eat them before the coyotes, hawks, eagles, foxes, bobcats and owls do, but the eggs are good). But I digress.

I applaud your honesty though, something I really do appreciate about you.

edit - Oh, and then there's the whole "Organic" thing. You'd need suspenders for your socks if I told you that one! LOL!

Oh I know. "Free range" can still mean caged. Grassfed can be supplemented with "other". It's a scam mostly. For organic or non GMO stickers. It's the higher price they are after.

I would rather not know what "open nature" actually is.

It may likewise surprise you to learn when I do get chicken it's because I was already at the Vietnamese wholesale place. They cut off the head in the store. "Buddha style." Organic, grass fed, the whole deal. Best chicken ever. For beef I cheat with Wagyu.

The Vietnamese or Asian markets also have the freshest fish. Live fish, which they kill and fillet to order. 99 Ranch Market is like the Walmart version. The markets in Little Saigon or in the combined Chinese/Korean or Indian areas are freaking awesome.

And it's actually not as expensive as the pretentious relabeled poser products.

Never heard of "open nature", but why am I skeptical about a new buzz-term?

As for the surprise, what I was referring to was the actual use for the "antibiotics" everyone recoils from. It has to do with corn as feed. It doesn't have to do with steroids for muscle growth. I'll just leave it at that; if I go much further I'll spoil your burger.

Wagyu, huh? We raise something pretty close to that (actually better, IMO, but not commercially available). Good animals, low maintenance...and no steroids. Oh, and no beer massages...except for me! LOL!

edit...Love, love, love, the Asian markets. Go there all the time. But I did spend years working in Asia, so I love those places anyway.
