Very interesting that you mention Isaiah 60. This brings up an interesting question: Is the United States an independent country or is it a vassal state to a World empire?

Isaiah 60 and Revelation 21 would have the U.S. be a vassal kingdom to the World empire with its capital in Jerusalem. The U.S. king will bow down to the Emperor (King of Kings) and present the annual tribute. If not, the U.S. will be destroyed by the God from the Bible.

Isaiah 60:

10“Foreigners will build up your walls, and their kings will serve you; for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.

11Your gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.

12For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

The truth is: The various Christian interpretations of the Bible are at odds with one another, mainly because the Bible itself is chock full of contradictions and scientific inaccuracies.

Take Paul's letter to the Galatians which you quoted from. In it, he pretty much states that the current Jerusalem is a nothing burger. The John quote has Jesus agreeing with that.

So either the Old Testament has been replaced by the New.

or the Old remains but must be re-interpreted by the New,

or the New is a mere parenthetical time, as taught by Dispensationalists, and the Old will resume after the rapture.

Different Christian denominations, sects, and worldly power brokers do various songs and dances in order to appear godly without losing temporal power and authority and wealth. That's the truth.

The best solution that I can think of is to keep the status quo of separation of church and state.

If the "spirit filled" want to face above when praying instead of facing Worldly Jerusalem, fine. No law against that. In fact, if public prayer ends (as suggested by Jesus), no one on Earth will know which way you face while praying in your closet.

See? Easy peasy.
