May be worth getting a carbon monoxide detector if you don't have one already (should be free or couple of quid from council or fire brigade) as the
equations for flues are very tight between optimal heating the house and ventyiliating nasty gasses outside vs nasty gasses entering the house with
the heat. Designed and built my sisters and a lot of it is the same vectoring optimisation used on Harrier/F-35B.

Aye, wood by the looks of it.
Crazy.
And how are they going to implement that one? LoL
I remember reading years ago they were going to use a 'sniffer' vehicle to drive round and monitor emissions for paticular particulate sizes given off
by unseasoned wood but seemed a stupid plan as the gathered evidence would be completely unreliable due to wind direction, speed, temperature, nearby
cars, bbqs, bonfires etc...
The vehicle itself would likely give off more CO2, carbon monoxide and nasty particulates than it could detect from a fire unless it was on a 50ft+
pole. Wood that has been creosoted has a really nasty smell that can be detected for miles but other than that they're not going to know.
