In the early hours of Monday, Vladimir Rogov, another Kremlin-installed official, said the fire had been "completely extinguished" in a Telegram post. The nuclear power plant has been under the control of Russian troops and officials since 2022.

Looks to have been extinguished or burned itself out by now.

Hopefully, the sustained heat from their willful arson attempt has not damaged the concrete or superstructure to much.

It's decommissioned, apparently.

It does appear that the plant is mostly shut down.

But given the size of the cooling tower, if it were to fall over and collapse, down to heat damage sustained, it might make quite a mess and present other dangers to other areas of the facility.

Is that not their line?

I mean you can just picture the convo.

"Dmitri is it really a good idea to set fire to all that stuff under there?"

"I dont know Alexsei, I'm no expert."
