So we are supposed to believe that the people that claim to have built/invented everything can’t be bothered to show up on time? 😂✌️

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's being late.

I was late once on Nov 17, 2002.

I am still expected to show up to work on time, give my hours, and knock out the things in my job plan with a smile on face. Hopefully, all the way to the bank until I retire....

In Japan, punctuality is a national obsession. Literally a - "dishonor on your family if you're 1 minute late" type obsession.

Does that make them bigger racists than us white boys?

Bet ya it isn’t considered racist when pay checks and assistance checks arrive on time.

Reminds me of something my dad (today would be his 111th birthday) used to say: "If you're 5 minutes early, you're 10 minutes late".

RIP Dad. You're missed.

After 20 yrs in the Marine Corps, I'm physically incapable of being late.

I start twitching at just the thought.

If you're not 15 minutes early, you're late.

With the way the doctors and hospitals work here, if you are more than fifteen minutes late for your appointment, the appointment is cancelled and there could possibly be a fifty buck charge added to your bill. You have to cancel your appointment twenty four hours in advance, or fact that same fifty buck charge...some places have forty eight hours cancellation requirements too.

Yet people on Medicaid can cancel their appointments with no penalty....and I know some that do do that often. Why do the regular people get penalized for not going to an appointment yet the ones that are low income have no penalty. Sometimes a person can be late for an appointment because of things out of their control, like getting pulled over by the cops or they had a flat tire or your car battery was dead. I suppose if you are late, that is a legitimate reason, that is why I mentioned possibly get a monetary penalty if you mention that and you are late. I make it a point to leave early for an appointment and always have made it there by the appointment. The strange thing, if you arrive there twenty minutes early, it seems you get to go in before your appointment, if you get there at your appointment time, it seems you have to wait twenty minutes to get called in. Don't know why that is, but it has been happening with me all my life.

I lived in Hawaii for a few decades, and I'm very familiar with "Hawaiian Time". It's a tropical climate, and people move slower, less of a historical sense of urgency you get in cities. Sleep when it's too hot. Fish and hunt Opihi at 3am.

Then consider the people of the American Southwest, including Mexico and Central America. People, especially in those dry desert climates were known for their afternoon siestas, because it was just too hot to work. They'd make up for it by sleeping less at night, waking before dawn.

Lots of indigenous people naturally slept in 2 daily shifts. I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same in Africa, and African/American slaves had a biological habit of sleeping in shifts too.

It's no secret that indigenous people were called lazy for their sleeping habits. And, racist people, who do exist, are quick to say "You people" are lazy" when a person of color is late. But they let the guys, who looks and sounds like them, slide.

On another note, my father, born in 1923, was afraid to swim in the same pool with black people, because he thought the black washed off, until the day he died. So, I understand racist people thinking the people of color are "dirty". My grandmother, born around 1900 in Texas, thought black people were only part human. I abhor it, but I understand it; the echo of old timey, ignorant racism, and how systemic racism is reflected on modern issues.

Your link is to the New York Post. Not really a good site for unbiased reporting, and it doesn't link the actual Duke University report. But I would imagine it discusses the link of bias mindset carry overs, stuff like the kind of examples I'm talking about.

I don't exist to serve you, you don't exist to serve me.

Showing up on time is a form of respect.

Unless you think respect is now racist.

That is not even a little bit true in fact it's the opposite . Minorities are given a ton of rope in terms of being late and slacking off because people do not wanna be called racist.

Some great karma when these kiddies start working for a living.
Let them see what happens when they walk in late to an engineering meeting working for GD, Lockheed, Raytheon... Lucky if they escape it once, but the next time they will hand you an empty box with a couple of escorts to walk you out.

Why didn't you include my whole thought?

And, racist people, who do exist, are quick to say "You people" are lazy" when a person of color is late. But they let the guys, who looks and sounds like them, slide.

So now, looking at the entire thought, what is it that isn't remotely true? Are you saying racist people don't exist, or that they don't project ignorant stereotypes on people of color and let slide the same behavior from their "bros"?

Note to self:

Check all Physician's Degrees, loudly boycott any doctor who graduated from Duke.
There we go. Imagine if thousands of Dukes doctors suddenly lost a bunch of patients to graduates from any other place not practicing racism as part of its curriculum. Even if those credentials were from many years prior to this nonsense, graduates of Duke will stand with their Alma Matters choices .... unless they suddenly have a financial reason not too.
"yea sorry man, I wanted to donate 15,000$ this year, but your idiots now are costing me lost business.

It happened at Harvard, it can happen at Duke. Hell it can happen anywhere where professionals regain their independence and sanity.
