But what about us in Canada Myke. Do we even have red options?

I am all for Justine losing his grip on power but it’s meaningless if he is just replaced with more of the same.

No, you're right, we really don't have true options.

It looks like Pierre Poilievre will win the upcoming election, but that doesn't mean much will change.

The trend will continue, the downward trend. The Left/Liberals here will continue with BAMN.

Too little, too late, IMO, but I'll ride the wave for now.

The swing here is going to hurt more Canadians than do good unfortunately... Ford is already undermining our health care system in Ontario and then blames the feds. The federal conservative leader is a libertarian unhinged politician.

It'll be too much too fast too soon just like the liberal governments ambitions to flood in immigrants.
Why cant we have moderate leaders anymore?

damn i thought this was gonna be some good doom porn going by the title.

Looks Like a Global Red Tide, you know like the algal bloom, that produces toxins that can kill fish, birds, mammals, and people to.

Same here, however, I actually expected the political topic when I looked it over.

I am always leery of anyone or anything from Quebec.

They have no allegiance to Canada and do not care about anything outside Quebec. My wife is a French Canadian, and travels to cities in Quebec a few times a year. Being a full French speaker and even a French teacher she fits in just fine. But if your not French your f’d some people won’t even acknowledge your existence as what happens with some of the none French speaking chaperones. This is fairly rare as the averages person is not far from you or me. But there is a sub sect that’s rather French supremacist.

My wife is French too, but Accadian, not Quebecois.

Having spent time there during the protests, I've seen exactly what you're referring to though.

Athetos and Myke,

We need to break up the Sikh separatist connection here in Canada.

They have no business bringing their politics from back home here into the political arena.

Jagmeet Singh Is propping up Justin’s minority government and has him over a barrel.

This shows in Canada’s recent conflicts with the Indian government.

Also, many local governments have succumbed to Sikh infiltration.

Hopefully Pierre Poilievre doesn’t sell himself out to this growing voter base.

Pierre Poilievre, Leader of the Conservative Party and the Official Opposition, had the distinct privilege of attending and speaking at the Khalsa Day Celebration at the Sikh Spiritual Centre Toronto. There, he extended his heartfelt wishes to Canadians who are proudly celebrating the Sikh New Year and expressed his hope and optimism for Punjabi Canadians.

weeklyvoice.com...

As my Indian buddy states, they need to leave that separatist crap at home and not influence Canada by attaining a political position to push an Indian agenda.

I live in a very small northern town and in the last 4 years we went from almost zero East Indians and Pakistanis I’d say around 10 to literally hundreds after a massively very rich Pakistani family moved town and bringing their entire extended family. They then bought up every single gas station and all the fast food and restaurants save for McDonald’s. They also purchased a local sports team, a local bar and a clothing store and dollar store.

Now it’s almost impossible to get a part time job around here if you’re not part of their clan. An overwhelming majority of the local entry level jobs for young people and all the part jobs have been soaked up by them. It almost all happened over Covid.

This is purely anecdotal but I am sure if you live in a small Canadian town you may have noticed the same.

What happens to all the asylum seekers displaced by the wars and other political turmoil? Surely one of the primary policies of right-wing politics is to prevent national identity from being from being watered down by exiles from other nations/cultures?

And what of those other cultures and peoples already settled?

What solution might someone come up with?

I have no problem with controlled and sensible immigration.

There’s a fine line between immigration and colonization.

I am an immigrant to Canada and I would be all for rules that prevent someone, not being born in their adopted country, from being able to hold any political office federally.

Also, immigrant or not, if you weren’t born in a Province or city, no political office for you there either.

This is the only way areas have a chance of holding onto their identity.

Additionally, immigrants of all origins need to leave their old countries conflicts and policies behind them and not expect their adopted country to become involved and assist in such matters.

Same thing is happening here in Alberta which is traditionally Conservative.

The three major cities were swung almost entirely socialist (NDP) in the last election due to immigration and migration from left wing provinces.

Now they are, like you say, settling in the smaller towns, which will inevitably lose their culture and identity as well.

I support legal immigration to my Great Nation, k?

BUT not if it's related to Liberal pandering and games, k?

F.I.F.O is my stance. Clear enough?

The centre and left of politics also don't have any problem with sensible immigration.

But the right-wing suggest the majority of crime, unemployment and drugs are due to immigrants. It has been one of their primary platforms to weaponize 'differentness' as something to fear, and that somehow they will fix the situation. Ask yourself how they might do that?

The politically active on the right-wing, the ones that are being elected, are not as reasonable as you, and will use use the reasonable desire to control immigration as impetus to implement their 'fixes'.

The truth is that crime, drugs and unemployment won't stop even if you were to remove every immigrant, because they are things humans of all cultures and ethnicities do, "for all have sinned..."
