I think they will push all legal envelopes, and
illegal ones as well. Much of the rules that were
changed during Covid i.e. mail in ballots were
done without legal changes to state constitutions.

So they have no problem with breaking laws
on the fly, they are the experts.

I'll do one for you.

Common lie: Biden's anti oil green positions are the reason fuel prices spiked.

Contrary information:

www.reuters.com...

I go with this:

The counter-intuitive fossil fuel boom under Biden reflects an awkward truth for his supporters and detractors alike ahead of the November elections, proving that what happens in globally interconnected markets like oil and gas is often well outside the immediate control of the person in the White House.

In Biden's case, Russia's invasion of Ukraine pushed oil and gas prices so high that many producers worldwide made record profits, not just those in the United States. The global economic recovery that followed the darkest days of the COVID pandemic also rapidly pumped up demand for fossil fuels.

I think people blame each-other in ignorance. Every time the Trump/Biden did it argument is made I consider it a lie, with the emboldened part more in line with truth (for me).

Every time Joe says he reduced oil production. LIE.
Every time Trump says he produced more oil. LIE.

Woah Trump was pumping oil wells, Biden is shutting oil down, AND giving away our reserves.

You need to cite the lies please so we can see why we are wrong. If we are.

I am gonna say you can't find where we didn't bring in more oil under Trump. Trump was "Drill baby Drill" like McCain the noname.

Forbes would disagree strongly with your misinformation.
Here’s the facts….

Overall, the largest increase in oil production during any presidential term took place under President Trump (2.47 million BPD).

During President Biden’s first two years in office, production has increased by 0.57 million BPD.

We are the number one producer in the world, and have been increasing production. Oil is a global market. We can produce as much as we want, but private companies are still going to charge more as global price goes up.

www.eia.gov...#:~:text=Growth%20in%20crude%20oil%20production,%2Fd)%20increase%20from%202022.

U.S. crude oil exports established a record in 2023, averaging 4.1 million barrels per day (b/d), 13% (482,000 b/d) more than the previous annual record set in 2022. Except for 2021, U.S. crude oil exports have increased every year since 2015, when the U.S. ban on most crude oil exports was lifted.

The problem with a swap is funding. It isn't impossible but it is far from easy to transfer campaign funds like that...or so I have heard from much smarter folks than I on that topic.

Why is that? Maybe they spent it already?

Why do liberals dislike democracy so much and always want technocrats to technocrat on their behalf?

If Trump lied through the entire debate the viewing audience (ie the democratic voters of this country) can fact check and form their own opinions.

Democrats seriously need to stop being so fascist with information.

We could probably go back and forth on this.

biologicaldiversity.org...

WASHINGTON— Federal data show the Biden administration approved 6,430 permits for oil and gas drilling on public lands in its first two years, outpacing the Trump administration’s 6,172 drilling-permit approvals in its first two years.

The difference is Trump approved the leases, Biden halted new leases, but allowed the permits.

Which pertains to the Forbes article in the other comment.

That data appears from overall gains and losses. Which was largest under Trump's first years, then he lost 3/4 of that increased production to covid. Leaving many unfulfilled leases from Trump. While Biden has halted new leases mostly, he is issuing more permits to make up the covid retraction.

The Forbes article also cuts off increases 2021 and beyond and then refers to the increase as being significant. It's fuzzy spin..

This graph is more strait forward. Same chart trending towards 13 million under Trump. Leaves out the 2020 high and retraction the following year.

We are at 13.2 million/day in 2024.

LoL
The Center for Biological Diversity 🤡
Their mission…

It is necessary to promote and embrace diversity and justice to create the social change needed to protect the environment and all who depend on it. 🤡

Let’s leave the factual numbers to Forbes instead of those DEI climate cultists.

So you can't refute the data on who produced more oil per day and issue more permits then?

Trump leads in 4 year increase by percentage. Not in overall production.

I imagine that tone usually works for you, but all you did was mock real data for the source cited and punt on refuting it. Instead posting a trendy hive-mind clown emoji.

Is it because you can't say oil and natural production weren't a higher rate per day under Trump.

Really you should BE HAPPY, right?

Now you can say Biden is an environmental hypocrite that drills and pumps more while pandering to EVs. That's almost worse for him and better for you.

And stop trying to bait me into the narrow-minded polarized world of keyboard warrior. The data is solid and it exists REGARDLESS OF POLITICAL AFFILIATION.

Trump literally LIED for 90 minutes and @CNN, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash enabled it by offering ZERO fact checks and push back. It was the most disgraceful performance by moderators in the history of presidential debates.

Trump was called our, several times-Biden only once. They both wasted our time bragging about how wonerful they were for America, with Trump saying he'd make America great again and Biden saying he'd keep pushing forward with his policies since they've improved our lives greatly from the disasterous Trump years.

All I got from the debate is neither one wants to clue us in on how they're planning on putting out the dumpster fire that's burnoing our country down.
I'm still waiting for a candidate to give specifics on what thier plans for saving our republic are.

I mean actual lies , Not oh what he says doesn't go with the current Narrative.

Oh I see NVM you've already been trying to prove the lies with graphs and pie charts

Naw. I don't like the set up.

If i give you examples, you put me on the defensive to defend them. The set up is all wrong.

Let's reverse it. You give me some winning Trump points, or better yet, the MANY times MSM fact checked Trump as Lying and I'll give you my opinion on it.

Otherwise it's a rhetorical trap not worth engaging.

I know that’s probably the first dumb thing that popped up on your google search to try and prove your ridiculous statement.
You should read it next time and consider the source before clowning yourself.

I'm not trying to set you up mate.

I respect you and your contributions to ATS , So I am genuinely curious what you think DJTrump is blatantly lying about.

But to your request , I'll have to re-watch the debate because I'm not going off Media talking points. The Media Fact Checkers are from the start full of sh*t , If you read CNN's legal fine print they don't claim to be journalist of any kind but instead there content should be received as entertainment.

Increase ≠ overall.

The overall production is highest under Biden.. and I don't even like him, but I'm going to defend it when it's true.

If you backtrack that chart to 2017 it tapers down to 9.7, the bottom of the chart.

Add it all up, and Joe's has PRODUCED more, while the largest percentage increase was under Trump. They can both be true simultaneously.

Okay, here's two.

“The problem they have is they’re radical because they will take the life of a child in the eighth month, the ninth month, and even after birth, after birth.”

6 or 7 states allow third trimester abortions and they account for less than 1% of total abortions nationwide, and are almost always under extenuating circumstances. Stop this baby-killer pandering. It's about autonomy.

And

"On January 6th we had the lowest taxes ever. We had the lowest regulations ever on January 6th.”

finance.yahoo.com...

Reagan had the lowest taxes recently. We had LESS regulations under Trump. He cut taxes mightily but actually doesnt even make Yahoo's top 5, and is behind every recent President except Obama and Biden. Trump lowered them half as much as Obama raised them.

Clinton actually eased tax burden more than W Bush but less than Reagan. According to economist consensus all 3 lowered the tax burden more. Even Clinton.

Furthermore, he signed legislation that increased the tax deduction for self-employed business owners from 30% to 80% by 1997. The Taxpayer Relief Act reduced some federal taxes. The 28% rate for capital gains was lowered to 20%. The 15% rate was lowered to 10%.

It is crap like that. Where he takes credit for Obama's (tax increase-related) bull economy. He damn well knows the economy/tax thing is a continuum from one to the next. I can't even fault Joe totally because he inherited covid, and then mismanaged it, but inflation is mostly on Russia.

Like how Clinton laws are exploited by Bush and leaves Obama with a recession that forces a tax hike.

It plays people for their ignorance. They won't question that Trump isn't 4th - 7th on tax burden. Lies or blatant exaggerations.

I believe there were some backhanded players here. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE knew Joe was weakest in the evenings. They had the debate way too late in the evening. He and his team had went over and over and over things he had to memorize, practice saying, practice standing etc. That's why when he came out, his first response was canned. And said as fast as he could get the words out of his mouth. That's where he shot his wad. He wasn't completely finished at that point, there was a little oomph left but not much. He resorted to name calling, stuttering and freezing and of course the same old lies. Almost every. single. statement. Joe. made. was. a. L I E!!!

nypost.com...

And what was up with the meds? Slack jawed, freezing, confused.......what WAS Joe on? Was he on ANYTHING????? If he was, it was the wrong thing or it was no longer working.

And did anyone see Jill Biden escorting him off the stage after the debate? Trumps people and his entourage were gone. Biden's people except for security were gone......what was the purpose of showing frail ol' Joe being led off the stage by his wife? Who thought that was a good idea?

And then after the debate. Jill telling Joe what a GOOD job he had done. "Joe, you did such a great job, you answered every question, you knew all the facts...." like she was talking to a young child.

There were too many wrongs for one evening. It was pathetic, the whole thing was just wrong for Joe. He didn't stand a chance on his own, and with all that 'help' they nailed the lid on THAT coffin.

It was clear to me, five minutes in that Biden was gasping to present the ''facts'' that he had been prepped to memorize for the debate. He had them all lined up. This fact, that statistic, all of them woven into what the silly dems thought would be a comprehensive policy debate and the successes of his administration. That is what they hoped. They must be really really stupid.

Trump cares not for facts because he has a hoard of lies and embellishments floating around in his brain. He can pick any of them he wants and bludgeon an opponent at will. He practices them all, day in and day out at all his rallies, all those tails designed to entertain and tantalize his sycophant fandom. It matters not that so many of them are lies or fabrications or just fanciful wishes. It's an entire web of deceit where any point or lie he makes is like a bazooka blast at the enemy. One would have figured the dumb dem handlers would have that figured by now.

But no, they let Biden go up and said a prayer I guess. But then we saw that double framed screen with Biden with his eyes closed, stuttering and pausing trying to dredge up his point all the while Trump, you could see it in his face, in his eyes, in the smirk on his mouth thinking ''Ah a flounder'', I can say whatever I want cuz this guys toast.

Like many here say it the fact that Biden's bosses had him up they is 'Elder Abuse''. And Trump obliged happily, kicking an old man when he is down and quivering..

I made it ten minutes and found an old Laverne and Shirley instead.
