I can only imagine, RT. I was born shortly after WWII and grew up seeing the scars it left on all people-not just the ones that came home from battle. Then I lived through the Vietnam war, with loved ones' laying their lives on the line. My own son was in Desert Storm.

The majority of people I see cheering for war have never lived through one or fought in one or lost loved ones to its ravages. To them, it's just like the movies they grew up watching, where America is always the victor and all are heros.

Translate that to civil war and it's going to be so much worse than our most horrible nightmares. Stupid reigns supreme these days, it seems.

I understand you, my friend. The Vietnam War took place in my early childhood. Like all subsequent external wars in which the USSR participated. Afghanistan was already close to me; after graduating from university, I submitted an application to the military registration and enlistment office to participate in that war in my specialty. But they didn’t take me. I personally met poor soldiers returning from Afghanistan at the station, fed them and gave them money so they could return home. There were no volunteer movements then, and I didn’t even know this word.
But respect for the soldiers who went through Afghanistan, for the veterans, remained for life.
I understand American veterans and their psychological problems. In the end, the elites fight and the common people die.
I understand that sometimes you need to fight to defend your Freedom and very existence. But war is the end of humanity. In Russia they understand this. It remains to get an understanding of this from the Western elites.

I do agree that a US Civil War would be a catastrophe and absolutely tragic.

I'm under no illusion there is going to be a lot of ill will and anger come November regardless of who wins.
But Civil War?
The USA has been there and experienced the shear bloody waste and senselessness of it before.
I have faith that if it ever come to that they'll work it out one way or another.

Something to consider; we should all concentrate on the many things that unite us and bond us together rather than the few minor issues that separate and divide us.

very important lesson will be learned, that groups of armed people can easily overrun spread out individuals or families, what happened in israel should make certain americans rethink those ideas, sprawled suburb of armed people and their families wiped out or disappeared by a small army, dont think it cant happen here. such a rebellion would be crushed in hours especially because your enemy would be mostly civilians, who tend to be ruthless in wars due to lack of training and discipline
