And he was not a member of the Republican establishment.

And he has a hard time keeping his mouth shut.

The two partys political machines roled right over him. It's amazing that he's still standing, let alone the current front runner for president in this election cycle.

Sadly, every single bit of that is true. In fact, with the possible exception of keeping his mouth shut, these were the best qualities about Trump. As a person, I think the guy is a giant arrogant blowhard, but as a president his absolute BEST quality was/is...he is an "outsider".

Yes, you are correct, and I addressed this in my edit (sorry). However, this is based on the notion that the Prosecution has clearly stated the charges against the defendant. Failure to do this, as with the Trump case, should reverse the order of closing arguments.

Better yet is to allow an expert witness to testify on those alleged crimes.

But again....it's New York.

I think my edit and your reply posted at the same time. I looked it over and figured I should clarify that legal point which is kind of unique to NY. Personally, I think that process alone runs directly counter to the form of 'justice' the founding fathers had in mind, but as you state so well...it's NY, so go figure.

I could go way off-topic here about a related subject on the demographics of NY which seem to fly in the face of their voting tendencies and their policy desires from a foreign relations standpoint (pretty radically actually). NY has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, yet this same population leans heavily democratic (if not 100%), which is pretty ironic given their policy objectives are aligned almost lockstep in line with conservative foreign relations policy in Israel. I don't see a lot of Jewish folks out there on the front lines of the anti-Israel / pro-Palestinian protests!! I find this more than just a little ironic, don't you think? But again, I digress.

They don't even try to hide it in Detroit. I can't speak for Chicago, but I lived in Detroit (well, outside Detroit proper) for a while at the end of the '90's on a temporary assignment (temporary as in...4 years! LOL!) Chicago appears to be similar from an outsider's perspective.

Neither of them have the horsepower NY does though. A lot more money in NY. In Detroit their traction is quickly declining as businesses and people leave. Chicago is much larger, but their population and voter base is declining just out of the sheer number of murders!

Wait a minute! No he wasn't found guilty of using 'campaign money' for anything. The funds used to pay Daniels were from his own personal accounts. The FEC declined to allow campaign finance allegations to advance for exactly this reason.

WE live in a country where deceivers have all the power now.

Does anybody think if Cohen intended to defraud Trump, he would have done exactly what he did? Isn't it obvious by now? 😃

I wonder how much Cohen is profiting from testifying against Trump? I know many Democrats would give Cohen substantial money for what he did. Maybe they should look at any money transferred to him outside the country.
