I’ve been saying from the start, Trump was dead to rights. It was just so blatantly obvious he did what they accused him of.

You just had to look at how the defense didn’t even try to put forward a counter argument, because they didn’t even have one to make. They just threw mud at the walls trying to create a reasonable doubt… Stromy was a liar Trump never slept with her… Cohens a liar, he went rogue and Trump knew nothing about it. That’s all they had.

Putting Costello on the stand was just mind blowingly stupid and the nail in the coffin for Trump. Apparently it was Trump who demanded it too and his defense team were completely against it. What it did was allow the prosecution to show emails of Costello claiming to pretend to be on Cohens side so he could shut him up to protect Trump… it was just crazy stupid.

Trumps only got himself to blame for this, his not a victim.

Before you celebrate political persecution, remember it can go both ways. This case will set precedence for future trials.

Good.

The world doesn't need criminals in control.

We should legally purge every last one from office, in perpetuity.

Criminals just proved criminals are in control of our country.

Congratulations.

He was found guilty, of all charges, by a 12 person jury that he and his defence team participated in the selection of. There was even a delay when they contested the first jury selection, which the judge allowed.

But, aside from that, I don't believe that even the most ardent pro-Trumpers believe that he didn't pay to quash bad publicity.

He has claimed in his defence that everyone is lying, but the foundation of his defence is that he didn't do anything of what we all know he did. He even stated it again (several times) outside the court after the verdict had been given. That is so obviously untrue.

He paid sums of money to hush up things that would be potentially damaging to his campaign, during campaigning, and then directed others to hide those payments.

When the details of those payments came out, he then lied directly and said he didn't know anything about them, but there is hard evidence and testimony that he did and in fact gave direction for his employees to both make the payments, and to cover up the payments and he also provided the money to make those payments.

He is guilty of all charges, not because of some giant conspiracy involving everyone on the prosecution side, and all Democrats, and Joe Biden, but because he is guilty. Those charges were brought because of events that were known publicly before the charges were laid.

You don’t have to convince me.

We’re a damn Bananna Republic now.

This once used to be the definition of a banana republic:

"A banana republic is a politically unstable country whose economy depends on the export of one product in limited supply, such as agricultural products like bananas or minerals. A banana republic has social classes that are divided by wealth. These include a large, poor working class and a small ruling class (elite) made up of the businessmen, politicians, and the military. The ruling class controls and exploits the country's economy.

However, the definitions have changed over time to include the following:

- Widespread government corruption
- Tyrannical government
- Unstable government
- Civil unrest
- Coup attempts/insurgency
- Economic dependency on exporting a limited natural resource (which may or may not be bananas)
- Infrastructure owned/supported by out-of-country interests
- Overall economic dependency on foreign investment or business entities
- Widespread poverty
- Significant stratification of social classes
- Enormous gap between the haves and have nots
- Lack of a middle class

Even now, with the new definition, the USA does not meet all the qualifications of a banana republic.

Tomorrow, the sun will rise, and for the vast majority of US citizens, the day will be remarkably similar to all the days leading up to the charges being laid. No difference at all.

Not sure how you come to that about my sensibilities from me asking you a question

As someone who thinks all politicians are liars and cheats, my sensibilities (in my own opinion) are completly in check, as for those that cheerlead on behalf of wealthy idiot politiicans (of all partys) thats something I watch and am constantly suprised by

I hope you find the rebellion you re looking for

I'm looking for no such thing.

The rebellion is underway, I just wish it was my side doing the rebelling for once...

Apologies then i misunderstood

Rebellion was made for moments such as these IMO.

You think this will just continue indefinitely? No. Whether you like it or not, sh#t is going to hit the fan, sooner or later, it's inevitable.

Some of us just see what WILL come if this keeps up, and some of us have the balls to call it for what it is.

How anyone could consider voting for either of these most unsuitable for high office people is quite frankly beyond me.
And I've thought that since well before this trial.

Trump's conduct has been one of arrogance, delusion and entitlement.
Biden's politicisation of the verdict immediately after the announcement was absolutely disgraceful and shocking.

The American people deserve so, so much better than these two.

How on earth is the credibility of a hooker more reliable than the freaking former president of the USA?? Unbelievable result, America is falling apart.

They're non-violent Class A felonies. White collar criminals are usually not imprisoned pending sentencing.

How is a convicted felon going to be able to stand on the World stage and be able to address other World leaders without being laughed at? Assuming he is elected.

The US would be a pariah state and would be an international laughing stock.

Yes, just because someone acknowledges that the time for rebellion has come, that doesn't mean that it's not the last thing a person WANTS to do.

It may just be what that person thinks is necessary, whether they want it or not...

He is now a convicted felon.

That's what happens when you commit crime.

Nah. Thats what happens when you’re CONVICTED of a crime. Big difference. It’s why “crime is down” and Joe isn’t on trial either.

Just ask the Big Guy.

Yeah, the butthurt will whine, but almost everyone else will forget. Those who remember will say "I always knew he was dodgy".

Just like with Nixon.

The rest of the world laughs at Biden. They know he is senile and corrupt.

They know this was political , not legal.

They will wait for the appeal.

And shake his hand when he stands on that stage.

If you have been in that situation you know it is not about having the best lawyers. It is who knows who. Bottom line. If they want to stick it to you they can, and often do in lower courts. Scare you with jail time and felonies as well as legal bills unless you plea down and still pay something...even when innocent. I have been there twice.

The sad part here is there is no winner. Not one. No sides.

I am ashamed of the US justice system..

The world also remembers his last turn as POTUS.

And my guess is if we are honest does not exactly wish to see a clown shoes repeat performance.
