It’s clearly politically motivated

The new refrain on Above Top Secret.

Who cares if it’s politically motivated? Trump committed 37 crimes, he was brought to trial on them and convicted by a jury of his peers, a jury that his own defence counsel had a hand in selecting. Justice was served. End of story.

Sure, let's have politically-motivated prosecutions against anyone and everyone in future. Nothing new, Trumpists brought a slew of politically-motivated prosecutions in connexion with their vacuous election-fraud claims. What happened? All thrown out of court because they were frivolous rubbish (though many here believed and still believe they are true, poor souls). Bring all the prosecutions you want; see how far that will get you in the US courts without a substantive case.

Seeing some of the posts on the interwebs, I think this study nailed it... 🤣

With 5 months and 5 days before election day, What REALLY MATTERS...

Of those who said the 34 guilty counts against the former President had changed their view of Donald Trump, 22 percent said they now had a more favorable rating compared with 16 percent who said they viewed him more negatively.

That six-point net positive result is another sign of the way the businessman-turned-politician seems able to ride out crises that would sink anyone else.

In particular, the numbers show a four-point net positive impact among independent voters, the group that could decide who is the next president in November.

Not on the state charges.

Actually YES he can. Its just a unofficial thing they dont do that to state cases. COTUS dont specify they cant do it.
Also ANYTHING that will prevent a president from doing his duties can be pardoned.

37 charges that wer edebunked by the accounting dept. They were for legal exspenses, and thats not a crime the FEC didnt see a crime.
NY is a biased place, and the trial should had been moved to another venue where its a half and half split between reps and dems.

And those election cases were never even heard in reality.

So Trump gets 34 felony counts because because he paid some extortion / compensation money in 34 instalments. The legal convolution used was because it was for some other crime with no evidence or case. And all this is against an ex president running in the next election.

I’m going to repeat.

Can’t wait for 10 years to look back at the Trump Era.

(10 is symbolic — not exact)

Unfortunately, that's not going to happen...
Because the people you voted for will do this.

Sure they will.

I remember -- can't vote for Hillary because Putin fears her.

Can't think of a better reason than to vote for someone.

Can you repeat that so it makes sense?

Anyone who can't understand my direct statements -- needs help.

Yes, need help to understand what you mean. It's why people ask. Like when I ask what Trump did with his books. You are sure he did something, yet you can't articulate what that something is. As if you are basing your hatred off of what you are told to think. While that's sad and pathetic, it's how it appears. You can change that by stepping up and telling me what Trump did, or admit you really have no idea.

This is probably something that will need to be looked into and some ruling made to set a precedent.
What Democrats have done shows how easy it is for a small group of conspirators to take down a former President and/or candidate.
Bragg we know had a focus of get Trump.
The judge was mysteriously assigned to ALL cases involving Trump
The trial was held in Manhattan

IMO Presidents need to have pardoning power of themselves for federal and state crimes.
Nothing in the Constitution precludes this.

It's necessary because what happened this week means that Presidents will be under constant threat when they leave office of a single judge and single prosecutor coming after them on whatever they can cook up - even years after. You can't get a case as thin (and ridiculous) as the one that at the extreme could result in 134 years in prison.
That gives massive leverage to a small group of people over any President.
That is the precedent that has now been set.

SCOTUS should act now, not for Trump, but to protect future Presidents against conspiracies to imprison them.

So 3 Rebuplican's killed the investigation. And they never mention once that the General Counsel found evidence that Trump was culpable. They only speak of Cohen, who was Trumps attorney for over 10 years, and only suddenly does he claim he has no idea what his attorney is doing or what AMI did.

Umm.. sure OK. I mean he tells us he only hires the best people, yet somehow they all end up sanctioned, in jail, plead out, or charged. But of course the stable genius knows nothing about any of that.

What it tells you is that the FEC cleared the payment, therefore there is no 'other' crime.
Bragg made up a crime as his other crime. It's that simple.
The 'other crime' they used as the entire basis to indict is no more valid than a newspaper/media rumour.

This is precisely why the judge refused to allow a campaign finance law expert to testify and why the jury instruction steered the jurors away from even caring too much about the 'other crime'. Any focus on it would have obliterated the case against Trump... and yet - once again - it was the entire basis - 100% - of the indictment.

That is how we know, for sure, that the judge is corrupt.
It goes way beyond mere suspicion of corruption.

If justice has been served by the left, then why are they still pissing about Roe v Wade?

The Liberals are not happy if they are not crying about something.

This is very funny and worth resposting.

The left : Don't attack the court in Manhattan and the judge/DA, it was all above board and Trump had his chance to defend himself. It's done. Stop whining. Truimp was found guilty. Our justice system must be protected at all costs

Also the Left: The Supreme Court is CORRUPT! It must be expanded / changed! We MUST have investigations into Thomas and Alito and they HAVE to be removed!! SCOTUS must be stopped!!! The court is wrong to overturn Roe vs Wade!!! Justice has not been served!!! It is 100% fine to threaten the SC justices!!

Unfortunately, this kind of extreme hypocrisy is par for the course all over the world right now.
It is not about fairness or justice anymore, only about whose side is winning.

Supposedly at random for all three cases. I can find the source if you like. But it stated a 1 in 15,000 chance of that occurring if actually random.

Yes i believe there are 24 judges plus Merchan - an acting judge.
All 3 cases could have gone to one of 25 judges.
All 3 went to Merchan.

That - all on it's own - is enough evidence of the corruption of the justice system to get Trump.

Thank you. Excellent.

You just described me.

I don’t even have a bumper sticker.

I just saw a whole thread on X of people talking about "chaining themselves to Rikers Island" if Trump gets jail time and tons of posts about how they will "volunteer to serve Trump's sentence" if he's sentenced. The orginal post was made by Laura Loomer who Trump has lately been more cozy with.

But, not a cult! Normal people say this all the time about other criminals found guilty, right? Oh, wait they don't actually.

I care because the political system would rather use the Justice department against their opponent than offer a better option.

It’s funny though, because every time they’re announced the charges, and they get traction, Trump gets a bigger lead.

All the effort put in doing this could have been spent on a good candidate and then selling their platform to the American people. But we haven’t seen that.

Where’s the plan for how we’re going to fix inflation, house prices and interest rates? I haven’t heard that talked about to the level of a priority it should be.

Instead the nation is arguing if Trump is guilty of things we know for a fact other politicians have done and never been charged with. It’s a bad time for that, and it’s worthless if we don’t hold that standard consistently.

I once heard a democrat say something stupid. So all democrats are stupid. Oh, and all black people are......wait, that's stupid. generalizing an entire group based on the actions of a few is stupid. It was the reason racism is stupid. Does it make it less stupid when you do it?
