the Budapest memorandum. According to the same memorandum, the United States pledged to defend Ukraine.

We did not. This was widely misreported at the beginning of the war. You rarely hear about it now. Because it was a false narrative.

The US merely agreed to not invade Ukraine and to try to stop any invading force through UN action. We tried that with a UNSC vote. Russia vetoed it because the UN is a joke.

We met our treaty obligations. We are under no obligation to defend Ukraine.

Whether or not we should be sending them weapons is an entirely other matter.

I'm not denying that the money in these cases were embezzled but saying there's no evidence it was the money from the foreign aid. It could as well be from the state budget, payed by the Ukrainian taxpayers, especially as the primary source doesn't mention the money comes from abroad. And I think it was mentioned earlier in that DOD report that 85% of foreign aid for Ukraine comes in the form of equipment not cash. Sure, it doesn't justify the corruption but it seems this problem is deliberately exaggerated and distorted by some political circles who favor Russia.

Are you trying to go in circles on purpose or did you just not read the post you just replied to? There is literally 3 examples I just posted links for that account for over 200 million in cash embezzled.

I posted evidence are you going to refute it domehow with some evidence of your own or can we finally agree that yes US dollars do go to Ukraine...and they are stealing from it in not so insignificant amounts.

Keep in mind that for some folks in the US, Zelensky is the closest thing they have to a god. I wouldn't be surprised if some members here have his portrait hanging in their bedrooms.

Remember, there are a lot of people here who fervently (and falsely) believe that Putin "installed" Trump as President here in 2016 by "hacking" the election. That myth, despite having long been debunked, still will not die.

In the 4 years Trump was President, they suffered from frequent hurt feelings, which for some folks are essentially crimes against humanity and should be punishable by death.

Then, remember Zelensky refused to help Trump investigate Biden family corruption in Ukraine.

So now Zelensky is their hero because he helped the Democrats stop Trump in 2020 AND is also hurting Putin, who they still believe mythically installed Trump as President in the first place.

If you keep that all that in mind, the fanaticism that you're facing whenever you impeach the integrity of their god Zelensky makes a lot more sense.

Well... Zelensky IS a hero. Although he received an offer to evacuate to the US, he decided to stay in his country and with his people, risking his life in the process.

That alone speaks for his courage. Like him or not, I wish our authorities were like him. In 1939 our Polish government officials put their tails between their legs and ran away, leaving the nation at the mercy of Germans and Russians.

If there are any heroes in Ukraine, they're on the front lines.

True. But we had our heroes on the frontlines too. There needs to be someone who coordinates the effort or else it all falls apart immediately. This is why it's crucial for a president and government to remain in an invaded country.

So, Russia is losing 1500+ soldiers and a ton of equipment per day, I wonder how that cost is affecting them.

makes sense to destroy everything and everywhere they hide and launch attacks from. give them no where to go.
even if it's in a UN compound

msn reprint of BBC article,

The drone footage released by the IDF on Tuesday is in three parts. BBC News has verified that it does show an Unrwa food distribution warehouse in eastern Rafah. It has not been possible to verify that the footage was filmed on Saturday. The first piece of drone footage shows three men dressed in black, with weapons slung over their shoulders, standing between two white cars with UN markings. In the second, a man is seen passing a weapon - a rifle - through the window of a white, unmarked pickup truck parked next to a large building with UN markings on its roof. The third piece shows a figure in black chasing people from the compound at gunpoint and gesturing them away.
UN says gunmen were filmed in abandoned Rafah aid warehouse

hamas uses every trick they can think of even hiding behind women and children.

If you want to really wonder, then sign up with the LARPing Ukrainian Nazi SS Stepan Bandera Azov side.

The loser side of history.

Possibly.
Russia was a co-signatory of The Budapest Memorandum. Quite clearly by your interpretation of the memorandum Russia did not meet its 'obligations' and broke the terms of the agreement by invading Ukraine, something it gave assurances it would not do.

I think you'll find that some of us view the whole Trump/Biden thing as something of an embarrassment for the US and its people - we do see the comedic value in it though which is a welcome distraction from our own #show which is almost equally embarrassing.
I assure you, neither Trump or Biden have had even the slightest, tiniest bearing or influence on how I view the Ukraine crisis, I suspect there's a few here that may say the same.

As soon as the Russians invaded it made everyone a loser to include themselves. So, if Ukrainians are LARPing Nazis what does that make the Russians?
