It accepts all regilions so is not a religious organisation.
It started out that way.
Boy Scout Pledge - On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
And? Things change.
It's doesn't promote any specific religion so all its doing is excluding some kids based on their personal beliefs that are actually irrelevant to the scouts.

No such thing as Atheist. Everybody worships something or someone. That is why the God of Abraham and Isaac said to not have any other before him. Claiming Atheism is just saying you haven't declared it, and you force us to guess.
Pure ignorance. Likely because you want it to be wrong.
Atheist is a lack of belief. Not a "belief" -- a lack of belief.
Prove God.
I just did.
God told me to post in this thread and to tell you to stop being so pedantic.
Prove me wrong.

It is a shame the left's politics has destroyed a good organization.
Well, I'm 77 and from an era of gender roles. It sucked.
I wanted to play sports. I was told I could be a cheerleader.
Thankfully we are progressing.

When Girl Scouts drop that name and change it to Cookie Whores, then I won't complain anymore.
I’m good with that.
General E is really going to think I’m a disgusting pig now. 🤷♂️😁

Yeah, nothing says progress like celebrating a man for beating some women at their own sport. Am I right?

That's it, enough!...I'm joining the Girl Scouts!

TPTB want to remove gender. They want genderless people and how they're doing it is with this new generation. They want wussified boys and manly girls. Who needs a man? Society needs a man. American superiority needs a man. Real man. Not some pansy. Look at what China is doing and really think.
Do you think anybody under 20 in America right now has the testicular fortitude to storm the beach at Normandy? Definitely not. There's a reason for this.

Everybody is overlooking the obvious.
The Boy Scouts lost somewhere in the vicinity of 60% of their membership during the Covid years for a variety of reasons. They are slowly trying to rebuild, but they probably need to attract more members of any kind in order to remain economically viable.
Exactly. If its a business would you want a name that excludes 50% of your potential customers?

Yeah, at about a 200% profit, very little of which actually goes to the girls selling them. What a gig! 'You do all the work, and we get all the money! YAY!'
The GS Council's cut is like 50% of cookie revenue. Only 10-15% goes back to the actual troop/group selling the actual cookies.
I'm actually kind of surprised that the Girl Scouts haven't been investigated under child labor laws.

What is happening is an institution caving in to some perceived wrong they are perpetuating by having their name be what it is, what it has been. That, folks, is wrong. There's no common sense element to any of this, no financial consideration (costs be damned); there is nothing more than social knee-jerk response.
It's not that complex. Girls want to camp and do cool sh1t like the boys.
They can't.
They're girls.
They need to make cookies and sandwiches for the boys.

Who cares if there are kids excluded? Would you honestly want yourself or your kids to be a part of something that wants to exclude you or them?
I love my kids too much to ever put them into a forced situation like that and was taught at a young age, by loving parents, never to put myself into a situation like that. For some people these days, it's like their goal is to find a place they're not included.

That pretty much goes directly against everything the leftists push.
Troop Leader Sparkles McGlitter is now offended.

If the other name means pushing away 75% of your customers, then yes.

I doubt many scout leaders or hardly any scouts care if a kid is religious or not. It was removed in UK with no issue at all.
It's a hang over from a previous era, much like the name.
