Yep the storms are always part of our weather, but I am sure that the "climate change doom porn" will make the storm bigger and more dangerous than ever, soo people stay afraid, very afraid.

The weather sure has been weathering lately. We even had a little rain here in Idaho, but none of those damaging 35 MPH wind gusts.

Yeah, not too concerned.

So the climate is warming up from an ice age.

Scientists tell us 2 things.

1. The earth was warmer than it is now...very tropical around the world during the dinosaurs.

2. The warming makes the storms worse. That is why we have such terrible storms now. Once in a century storms every other week.

So, that means the storms were worse during the time of the dinosaurs.

How did they survive?
Did they grow that big to withstand the horrible storms that are about to kill us all?

Not biblical. Typical springtime weather patterns. These storms take place every spring.

We're currently under a Tornado Watch in my region.

Outside it's drizzling lightly and it's a very beautiful and peaceful day.

I'd be inclined to sit on the porch with a cuppa coffee and watch the clouds, but there's too many trees to get a good view of the horizon.

I'm still getting used to Tornado Weather in this State...it's much different here than it is in Texas.

It is Nebraska.

You are calling it a Biblical event...

They are calling it an early Spring.

Ryan Hall always does a great job of tracking storms. Today was a major tornado outbreak with one after another forming repeatedly in already previously hit locations. The storm chasers did a wonderful job of keeping up with them. It may be "normal weather" for the midwest, definately not normal for everyone who just had their lives upended.

Fortunately for the curious the livestream can be viewed, the multi-mile wide wedge tornado @ 5:04.12 outside of Defiance Iowa was jaw dropping.

We lost our power today for about an hour...it was supposedly a planned shutdown for some reason. I suppose they are giving us some emergency training. Nobody was informed about this planned shutdown that anyone knows of that we know. It wouldn't be bad...but it was around five oclock, lots of people had their suppers messed with. They could have done it an hour earlier or an hour later. We have supper around five, so our supper was all cooked but the dishes were not yet finished.

We survived, good thing I made the coffee before that.

If you were as big as a Dino you could hold to the ground better than modern animals is my best guess on survival. Plus the weather may have been more stable because of factors we weren't there to measure. Either way, the size andweight of those critters was really an issue for why they needed to become extinct so we could be here.
