I am having trouble understanding the logic here. Sure HAMAS "did some things", but because other people did bad things, it's OK. That's idiotic. It's 5 year old logic.
Maybe you should explain that to the IDF idiots in this Cabinet of Horrors?
Regardless of any other factor, it was horrific that HAMAS tortured, and killed innocent people on October 7th. The part where that is being glossed over is the problem.
Except that your laser-focus on the past glosses over the status quo half a year into an insanely genocidal campaign? Oh wait, that's not a problem?

So HAMAS did not attack Israel on October 7th?

Friedman also discussed widespread anti-Israel protests on college campuses that erupted following the unprecedented Oct. 7 attacks Hamas carried out on Israeli residential areas last year, with a warning that the vitriol that followed that day could lead to further catastrophe.
"I have two children, two grandchildren in WashU and one in Cornell, and they're scared, and I just can't imagine living through this. I was too young."
Though she wasn't born when antisemitism began rising before the Holocaust, she drew similarities between that dark time in history to the chaos of today.
"If this isn't contained, if they don't think about it, what is going to be the end product? What is the end product of any hatred and prejudice? It is death to somebody. It could be death to themselves, death to their opponents. Because we didn't stop Hitler like we had a chance during Kristallnacht. We could have stopped it, but nobody did. So I ended up in Auschwitz, and a million and a half of Jewish children were gassed," she said
Columbia University has announced that classes at its main campus will be held remotely for the final weeks of the semester — as critics blasted the “weak” administration for allowing anti-Israel student protesters to shut down the college “in essence” and called on parents to seek tuition refunds.
Classes on the university’s Morningside Heights campus will be hybrid — “technology permitting” — through the end of the spring 2024 semester on April 29, the letter said.
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Pub. L.Tooltip Public Law (United States) 88–352, 78 Stat. 241, enacted July 2, 1964) is a landmark civil rights and labor law in the United States that outlaws discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex,[a] and national origin.[4] It prohibits unequal application of voter registration requirements, racial segregation in schools and public accommodations, and employment discrimination. The act "remains one of the most significant legislative achievements in American history".[5]
