FISA is set to expire at midnight.

The current plan is to renew it without the warrant requirement, which seems to me would be in clear violation on The Constitution.

Schumer has only hours left to avoid FISA warrantless surveillance shutdown

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has less than 24 hours to reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act’s (FISA) warrantless surveillance program before it expires at 11:59 p.m. Friday, and he has a tough path ahead to meet the deadline.

Schumer needs to get around a coalition of Republican and Democratic senators who want to dramatically change the House-passed bill, which would almost certainly result in intelligence and law enforcement agencies losing important authorities for a few days.

On the Republican side of the aisle, Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Mike Lee (Utah) and Josh Hawley (Mo.) are pushing for changes to the bill.

They want to add provisions to bar intelligence and law enforcement agencies from buying Americans’ data from third parties and to prohibit FISA from authorizing any surveillance or searches of Americans.

What do you guys think will happen?

What are your opinions on warrantless data collection and analytics in an ever advancing technological era?

Does anyone know when the Senate is scheduled to vote on passing this outrageous legislation?

I started watching the old show Homeland last night. Main CIA character sets up surveillance illegally on an American POW in Iraq recently rescued after 8 years whom she suspects has turned traitor (they have set it up that he is a baddie of course while the heroine is a flawed but spot on agent). Then once she has a tiny sliver of maybe, sort of some evidence, THEN she gets a FISA from a compromised judge.

This is how they try to paint it...the old "if you are innocent you have nothing to worry about, its only for 'bad guys.' It is for our own protection."

I just had to chuckle in that "we are so screwed" kind of way watching it....technology, like so many other "conveniences" seem to end up screwing us in the end. Privacy and true freedom is an illusion. The rats in DC just write and re-write "laws" and "acts" and "bills" to be more and more complicated and filled with other BS snuck in until we the people can't possibly read and understand it all. I mean, most folks don't read their phone agreements much less all the crap that gets shoved through.

"Dozens of American and Israeli aircraft were reportedly flying in the vicinity of Iraq, according to sources in the country. Additionally, the Iraqi sources claimed that among the waves of bombings to the south of the city Baghdad, an arsenal of weapons belonging to Iranian militias was attacked.

However, two security sources said it was not known who was responsible for the air strike and a US official said there had been no US military activity in Iraq."

Senate passes FISA surveillance tool renewal minutes after midnight deadline

Roughly 40 minutes after it lapsed, the Senate voted to pass a renewal of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which serves as a critical tool used by the government to gather intelligence on foreign subjects using the compelled assistance of electronic communication service providers.

The upper chamber voted 60-34 to pass the re-authorization. The provision lapsed for less than an hour at midnight on Friday, and if the renewal hadn't passed soon after, the expiration would have meant companies would not be forced to comply with the government's requests for surveillance aid under the bill.

Without the FISA section's re-authorization, the government would be required to seek a warrant to compel any such assistance, which is a process that can span extended periods of time.

The measure now heads to President Biden's desk for his signature.

This article makes it sound like FISA warrants protect foreign subjects, but my understanding is that foreign subjects are not protected from surveillance, data collection, and data analytics, but for American citizens certain data collection, like phone calls, are protected under certain laws that are in accordance with the fourth amendment and general privacy rights.

Am I wrong about this?

I went a wondering in search of how "23" was used. Working backwards using months and the day I found something.

FDA gave the first EUA to Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 jab December 11, 2020

Re-reading this "The data also support the known and unknown benefits outweigh the KNOWN and potential RISKS."
Sooo they knew there were risks but went ahead with the plan.

Peter Marks as head of the FDA "Today's action follows an cough - open and transparent review process that included input from choke- independent scientific and public health experts and a thorough evaluation by the agency's career scientists to ensure this vaccine met FDA's ...cough- rigorous, scientific standards for safety, effectiveness, and manufacturing quality needed to support EUA."

Considering everything was remote how did they accomplish ensuring the manufacturing quality was up to snuff.

Meet Peter Marks

Interesting timing of his appointment- the critical year 2016.

A Storm is Brewing- Lawsuits over covid-19 vaccine injuries

As of the date of this 11.3 there were 12,233 claims filed. 32 claims were eligible and only 6 have received compensation. [32-6=26]
The liability protection has been extended until the end of 2024. Very strange- The Counter Measures Injury Compensation Program was set up in 2010- 9 years before the initial release. September. Bill Gates.

Now if I am reading this correctly to get around the liability protection the Covid-19 jabs would have to be taxed and oddly, although we know the reason, Congress has not "signed off on taxing the doses for the program, a process that applies to any vaccine added to the program." They l.o.v.e taxing.
I imagine they are trying to keep a lid on the enormity of injuries that are incoming.

"Very soon , we're going to see people sue the vaccine manufacturers."
