in this instance yes, which is what the case was about. spin doesn't work on people that know what the case was about and the pretext used for it.

And the only disagreement was really that some of the justices went on to shoot down predictable future Democrat attempts to overturn the election if Trump wins. Some of the justices thought that was premature.

If I were one of those idiot judges in Colorado who passed the 'kick Trump off the ballot' ... I'd be embarrassed as all hell that the SCOTUS just overturned my ruling. It shows the morons in Colorado are biased and don't understand the Constitution.

I think Trump only sent it into high gear. They were heading this direction anyway. It really started under Obama, when they started calling any legitimate criticism of him "racism."

That worked for a bit. They were able to shut people down with false cries of racism. Then they started doing it with sexism, homophobia, etc.

The problem is that while that worked, they didn't have to support their positions logically. They got intellectually lazy and forgot how to form rational arguments because they were able to shut down debate with false labels.

In the meantime, in their echo chambers their ideas kept spiraling to the more extreme without any dissent allowed. Even anyone on the left who disagreed with their insanity was attacked.

Now the fake cries of racism etc. don't work anymore, and the Left is standing there with their dicks in the wind with extreme positions that are unsupportable by rational arguments.

Except the ruling makes it very clear that Trump, or anyone else running for federal office, could be prohibited from appearing on a ballot by a Congressional act.

The fact that SCOTUS went out of their way to state that's the only way someone can be removed from a ballot by way of Section 3 caused two separate concurring opinions to be written pointing out how that feel outside the scope of the case.
