Probably posted already. By constitution, the USA is a republic?

It's so funny watching Democrats pretend they care about democracy.

The last time Democrats en masse accepted that a Republican was legitimately elected president was 1988 when big Bush won. That's almost 40 #ing years ago.

They don't even allow their voters to choose their candidate in the Dem primary without the party putting their thumb on the scale.

The Democrat party is decidedly anti-democracy.

Just to clarify, and nuance is important.

"Several senior Democrats told The Atlantic they would not certify a Trump victory in November if the Supreme Court does not clearly rule on his eligibility."

Well THAT depends heavily on what those senior Democrats consider "clearly rule". 😃

I think "clearly rule" means the Supreme Court doesn't rule the way the way the Dems say they should. At least it kind of looks like that to me, could be wrong.

Democrats make up their own definitions based on what they want, not what's normal or legal. 😀

How "certain" are you The Supreme Court ruling(s) will determine "eligibility" ?

I have zero certainty, or faith, in SCOTUS making a definitive ruling on Donald Trump's eligibility. On the contrary, I expect them to rule against states' rights and kick the decision to Congress, or maybe the DOJ. I think kicking it to the DOJ is really a bad idea, as Attorney Generals are political appointees, so there is no way a DOJ indictment wouldn't appear to be bias, under any circumstance.

That leaves kicking it Congress. According to the talking heads, it would play out like it did on Jan 6th 2021, with Congress reps contesting states electoral votes, like they did last time. Of course, some will contest Biden too. Ultimately, it will get kicked to The House of Representatives.

You beat me to it. The Democrats have set the bar, they laid the plan down. No joking, the precedent was set. If they do that it will be named as insurrection. I said at the time that they could not see their shouts of insurrection would come back to bite them in the ass. Plus all the other silly shenanigans they are trying to pull.

I think the better course of action would be not to certify Biden fit to run for office , hard to complain about the other guy when you're fielding a dud.

Might be the smartest thing you've ever posted.

When even the stoner metal heads get it, the jig is up.

Honestly, from my perspective, America is only one acre big anymore. I don’t care what anyone in Blue York or Commiefornia does or doesn’t do.
My conservative representatives don’t fight for me, I’m not fighting for their soap opera. It’s not even believable.
Maybe that’s why they hate Trump. He’s the only thing that seems to unify conservative minded people.

A. Listen to the whole clip in context, and you will know he was making a joke.

Correct. Democrats keep saying we have a democracy. We do not.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all,"

Rather a moot point whether we're a democracy or republic anyway. Democrats no longer believe in either concept. They believe in a one-party authoritarian state like China has. That's what they're working towards. They want the common citizen to have no power and no say. Our betters will control everything.
