Not entirely. But he did become a political figure, so just by the nature of that happening you cannot escape a political angle now can we?

I suppose that's why a large part of banking is there's certain levels of risk, hence why interest exists.
Bank fraud ends up hurting everyone in the end tho.

So Mr. Trump defrauded the government and his banks, but the government cannot find any or enough evidence to pursue charges with a criminal indictment and the banks claim everything was above board.

The state I live in accesses my property at about $9.25 per square foot, but the realtors and banks seem to think that it's worth about $137.75 per square foot.

By New York's precedent, I've been committing fraud without any intent to defraud anyone what so ever.

I imagine most of us who own property are guilty of the same fraudulent practices ...

That's a fair point. But, you or me having the bank breathing down our necks isn't quite the same as a client like the Trump organization, that manages or owns sky scrapers and who knows what else, golden shoes now apparently.

So what you're saying is, as long as Mike72 doesn't run for office, he should be okay?

I mean, don't commit tax, insurance and bank fraud you should be OK... what Mike72 said is just normal appraisal and banking practices. The issue would arise is if they tried to use their property as collateral, based on the banks or a trusted outside one and then used the loan for I dunno, instead of a house renovation, lend the money to their cousin to buy speculative property.

It's a fair point to bring up, but in the Trump organizations situation it's not as cut and dry.

Odd that people keep saying brank fraud... like the bank got screwed yet for some reason testified on behalf of trump.

Doesnt it strike those repeating this as odd, that the victim testified for trump.

Honestly, it was pretty dumb of them to make such a big deal out of the Trump scandal, tossing lawsuits at him left and right, but not doing anything to better themselves. Just because you've embarrassed your opponent doesn't mean you're suddenly top dog. Biden's not gonna take it home, so they'd be better off pushing another candidate and cleaning up their own image. Otherwise, folks will just vote for the lesser of two evils.

Would you pay the money they are trying to scam from you when you know they will get nothing on appeal?

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump wants them to try and seize his property. His popularity has grown with each new indictment because it's easy for him to claim political persecution; the governor of New York was forced to reassure law abiding citizens not to worry about a court case her DOJ won (when has that ever happened); if the state tries to seize Trumps property they hand him another propaganda win.

He has 30 days from the time of the judgement to pay before they start charging daily interest. Most of his worth is tied to properties so my guess he will do the bond option. I bet he waits until the last min to file because it'll trigger more people like you which is fun for us to watch.
