Sources say that the judgment is coming on Friday, "barring unforeseen circumstances."

Not a bad haul for NYC.

It only cost the taxpayers afterall and they'll see none of that anyway.

They are also barred from doing business in the state for three years. On top of the previous ruling from the summary judgment.

Wow. I can't wait for the appeal, either.

But, his success rate in legal proceedings, doesn't bode well for him, does it?

Wonder if he will fire his legal team? Again?

The answers to your questions will be answered after the elections.....

I mean, that's the entire point afterall.

Still plowing through the 90 odd page judgment.

But the word "coruscating" comes to mind.

Doesn't he have to pay or get a bond (expensive) within 30 days, regardless of any appeal?

I don't know.

Yet I think it stands to reason that ALL proceedings will be directly out of Trumps pocket.

ETA:

This is a civil trial. No bond unless you're speaking to something other than criminal bond.

While Trump is President for 4 years one would think he should retire after that.

It would be long after he is dead before the money is paid IF every appeal is overruled.

Oh. Right. I'm not expert in US law

So, will he seek a stay of enforcement pending any appeal?

Will the appeal be against the finding of civil fraud or just the amount of the "fine"?

He has to pay the full amount to appeal this case and the Carrol case.

It's worse for Trump than the $355-million judgment implies...With pre-judgment interest, Trump is looking at something more like $450 million.

He's stated he would be appealing (that's how transparent the corruption is).

If memory serves, he is not required to pay while under appeal, court costs may not apply here, I'm not certain and I'm not a legal expert nor lawyer.

I don't know what the appeal will be on but I imagine it will be the entire thing.

New Yorks loss. I think Musk is moving his HQ out also.

Yes he will need to post a bond if he appeals. Same goes for the E. Jean Carroll case.

In a civil case where you're ordered to pay out monetary damages you have to pay a percentage of it towards a bond before you can appeal. If you win your appeal you get the money back.
