But, could you afford to travel to another state, pay lodging, pay for medical care, etc?

Sucks to have costs to fix one's F'ups. In the case of the OP it is most likely insured due to the medical condition based on the situation. In the cases of abortion based on preferences, I don't think insurance pays, but many states do pay since abortion is cheaper than welfare.

I'm still sticking to my point that if abortions are not as easy as they once were then women AND men will be better at prevention than trying to fix a F'up.

The Texas judge who approved the abortion was wrong.

So, you’re anti abortion.

And don’t like the one judges decision.

You know I’m anti abortion. I said so back on an early page of this thread . My opinion about abortion has nothing to do with this thread. I can keep my feelings separate of the facts.

That judge was wrong.
The Supreme Court stated that in their decision.
I think she’s a rotten activist judge, as I also stated before.

So now when a judge follows the law to the letter they are activist judges?

To the letter? lol
That judges ‘decision’ was only based on Kate’s petition(opinion) and not the actual court case(fact).
The Supreme Court saw right through it.
That’s why I think she’s an activist hack. She’s shady.

You've waived away the idea that a woman could have a 2nd Amendment right to use lethal force in self-defense of life or limb. But you continually defend Texas law, saying "Hey, it protects women whose lives in danger! What else do you want?" Like it's charity!

LOL
We see you!

One is medical, and one is defense or do we shoot bad doctors now too? Looking at the case based on Texas law it isn't as cut and dry as you and others seem to think it is in some old White Christian Judge who was trying to stick a poor woman.

This is a married couple who already have 2 children and were welcoming a 3rd.

The fetus is not viable.

Where is the F-up?

Well, this woman paved the way in warning other women in similar emergency health crisis situations that they should just go out of state at the outset of issues such as these.

Just insane. Purely insane.

That anyone thinks they have the right to legislate a woman's autonomy. And then have a public vote on it.

And sadly -- fundamentalist women are anti-woman's autonomy.

You completed mocked and dismissed the concept that a woman has a 2nd Amendment right to use lethal force to save life and limb
No, I mocked the fact you want to use the 2nd as justification for abortion. The 2nd has zero to do with abortion.

When you say "holster your weapon", which is an allusion to 2nd Amendment, you're really telling me to "shut my mouth", a 1st Amendment complaint.
You’re trying to ‘shoot the messenger’. I’m just relaying the facts from this case. Your beef isn’t with me. At no time did I ever say or infer you to be quiet. Stop with the personal attacks.

but you laud the generosity of the Texas law that allow exceptions for the life a woman.
I did no such thing.
Early in this thread I stated I don’t think abortion should ever happen, regardless of the health of a woman.
I would describe the Texas law as weak and political.

She was slapped down by the Supreme court for it.

There are more women than men in the USA.

Unfortunately, many of them still believe they were made from a man's rib.

LOL Lame!

Are you saying that you believe that there exists no constitutional right to fight for one's life against disease and medical related threats? Careful, that's a slippery slope.

I'm talking about the right to use lethal force to defend life and limb. That's the legal standard for self-defense. If the threat is an embryo or a fetus that's putting life and/or limb at risk, then taking up arms is called for, even if those arms are medically specific tools.

As far as this case goes, he did his job and protected the will of the people in Texas.

DEFINITELY!

What this woman needed was clear cut and logical.

Zero reason she should have been prevented from getting the care she needed.

Cox's pleading never claimed that her life was in imminent danger. That wasn't the issue. It was her health and her ability to give birth in the future, that was the issue.

And what - exactly - does the law say?

Asking honestly, I have no interest in pursuing that matter myself.

Just you saying so doesn't make it true. Tell me WHY an embryo or a fetus that is threatening the life of its host can't be handled with lethal force in the light of self--defense, just like any other threat to life and limb?

You’re trying to ‘shoot the messenger’.

What is your message? It seems to me to be your gleeful joy for putting a terrible activist female doctor and a female judge in their place, and your support for the victorious suppression of women, by forcing them to endure intendable dehumanizing cruelty, smirking while claiming these are "just the facts, holster your weapon".

Well, your facts are leaving out a lot and dismissing the misogynous authoritarianism that you're trying to normalize.
