Yes, I watched the footage.

Of all the people there -- who managed to avoid a deranged person -- only Kyle was threatened to the point of killing him.

Notice how nobody else was assaulted, chased after, or threatened to be killed?? And this was all BEFORE he shot to defend himself after fearing for his life.

So are you saying he should have stuck around, after fearing for his life and having to defend himself, to be killed by those that wanted to kill him in the first place?

Strap a weapon everyday? People don't get this about us...gun carriers....hope to never having to even draw down someone....

We legal carry not to USE the thing...really hopefully to never having to even pull it.

LOL -- do I look like a woman that hates on men? Yeah, that really is me in my avatar -- when I was 20 something.

I grew up between 2 brothers in an all-boy neighborhood. Didn't have a female friend until I was 12.

If he wasn't in counseling before this happened, he sure as Hell shoulda been after. I'm not trying to use him to prove something.

He went there as an inexperienced wannabe -- which is very dangerous for everyone around him.

Sure must be nice to sit here and judge someone you know nothing about. He did drop out, but transitioned to online school. Then started working towards being a police officer by going through several programs involved with the police.

Anyone who takes a life, whether for good or for bad, will have emotional trauma. So yeah, hopefully he is getting some sort of hel pthere.

There you go, throwing around that word "wannabe" again. He was there, not as a police wannabe, but as someone defending his community. He was there earlier in the day administering aid to those that needed it and trying to clean graffiti off of buildings and clean up from the rioters.

Never once did he say he was police or an emt, as others have claimed. He was there to volunteer in his community. Plain and simple. There would have been no issue at all if the mob/rioters had not tried to assault and kill him first.

Don’t put yourself in situations!

Still rather enjoying the "he was there to shoot/kill people" narrative being pushed by everyone in here.

As mysterioustranger has mentioned, nobody in a self defense situation is looking to kill people. They do not intentionally put themselves in that scenario. Things happen, and people are thrown into that situation, almost blindly. There were things he could have done differently, but hey, hindsight is 20/20.

He was there helping his community, rioters decided he was an easy target to try and attack with intent to kill, he defended himself. Now everyone is crying that he is a murderer and he should have just let the mob assault and probably kill him.

I was in the Casino, guy drunk, fender bended me. He was of color, pissed, and chased me( he hit me)..

Outta the cars...both looking...I wasn't even thinking "I'm carrying"...I could see with his clothing he
wasn't...but the point? It was a sketchy scene...and it couldve got bad....but the firearm in this case? Wasn't an issue...but in a split second...?

See..the last thing I'm thinking...is to draw on him. Most of us, are like that....

I think a lot of folks think of us daily carriers as gun "Yahoo's". We are not. Far from it.

1 in 5 Americans are carrying. College girls, retirees, regular folk...so look at your grocery store line ..and know...1 of those 5 are carrying. Might be that grandma...or that nice looking woman dressed well...and me, I guess.

We carry NOT TO USE...and pray we get thru the rest of our lives not having to....😎✌️

Come down to it? I'd rescue or go down for anybody in defense. I could never not act.

The gun is irrelevant in that moment. Someone messing with you,j your kids or that person across the street? I'd grab a crowbar, umbrella....gallon jug of antifreeze...and take you down. I mean whatever...if you gotta act?

Gun? You better be sure...and I can think of a dozen ways to takedown or immobilize.
