Photos make it look like it was a pretty decent-sized explosion. They have closed all 4 border crossings between Western NY and Ontario for now. FBI is leading the investigation at this time.

Law enforcement sources at the scene described the following events: vehicle was traveling down Niagara Street, sped onto the bridge plaza, went through a fence separating the inbound & outbound lanes, and went toward the inspection lanes where it exploded. Source - Niagara Gazette

The FBI is investigating a vehicle explosion Wednesday at the border crossing between Canada and the United States on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, New York.

2nd source says "sources" claiming it's an attempted terror attack, and 2 vehicle occupants are deceased, border patrol agent injured, and explosives were found in the vehicle:

Explosives were in the vehicle at the time and two people who were in the car are dead, the sources told Fox News. A border officer was injured.

The vehicle was driving from the U.S. to Canada and were attempting to drive toward the border officer building, the sources said.

I never knew there was a real rainbow bridge. I always thought it was the western name for Bifröst or Bilröst from Norse myth.

I hope it's just a vehicle malfuncation and nothing more sinister.

If this was the southern border would there be folks saying 'see we told you so' and say it was a failed terrorist attack?

People on social media are still blaming the Southern border. They are apparently geographically challenged.

Well, considering the vehicle was coming FROM the U.S., it's highly likely they did come through the southern border.

Weird, Fox is reporting that, yet every other news source states the vehicle was trying to enter the US according to the city of Niagra Falls.

Non life-threatening injuries were reported for the border patrol agent hopefully a speedy recovery and an extra something to be thankful for on Thanksgiving

makes sense, lotta big historical type places technically a less secure border, shorter drive to those important places.

Assuming its an actual terror attempt.

The witness in the linked video confirmed the vehicle coming from the US, headed towards Canada, at "like 100 miles an hour ".

Hearing there were 2 men and the car was packed with explosives. Too bad these guys did not pilot one of the planes on 9/11 we might still have a tower.

What value does a border checkpoint have if this was a "terror attack"? Short answer: None. The story mentioned the vehicle was directed towards the border crossing office? It was probably some random individual(s), well versed in explosives, that probably got denied entry or something. Yeah, that stupid.

Or perhaps some "nations without borders" (which is an oxymoron by definition) activist doing his or her part? I suppose that would be a "terror attack", albeit a worthless one, imo.

The media is pulling the "terror card" to capitalize on an obvious, justified sentiment that's going around concerning the implications of our practically non-existent border security. Please don't let them do this to us again, like the last 80 times they inflated a story or situation for their own benefit.
