Your first point: if there is a ceasefire without first negotiating the release of the hostages, then maybe the ceasefire should not be agreed upon. One would think hostage release would be a no-brainer. Why do you fear the hostages wont be a bargaining chip? No, once they are released, they won't be. Does this mean you are against releasing them?

Hamas is going to do what they did last ceasefire. Take the time to repair tunnels, build more rockets, indoctrinate more children. Train for the next battle.

The Palestinians that don't support Hamas are in the same fix as always. Helpless to do much about it.

Israel's goal is something better left up to Israel. They have some decisions to make, and there are many living in Israel right now that would not have chosen Netanyahu or the policies that made it possible for all this to play out the way it did

For those who think that Mideast peace is the goal, this is a significant omission. But for anyone who thinks the conflict is "permanent" and that no solution could possibly be satisfactory to Israel, the lack of a long-term plan for Gaza is desirable. It's the point.

I'll say one thing - ATS let's me focus on the world without having to read about the world. That's a plus. I need to remember that

THe 'revenge violence' is just another chance for blaming Israel for not allowing herself to be intimidated into not defending herself against people that want to genocide the Jews.

No more war is like no more oil.
Problem is we, as a civilization, have pigeon holed ourselves into depending on both to survive.

If oil stopped tomorrow so would society.
If war stopped tomorrow civilizations would be overrun with those that refuse to stop.

Both noble causes but sitting in roads to stop traffic with their engines idling is akin to ripping down posters of kidnapped Israelis.

Both perpetuate the issues and in no way send a reasonable message that their noble causes are first priority.
