Reasons behind the resignation
Quoted from his interview

1) it's an uncontroversial fact that US Arms should not be used to Massacre civilians and should not be used to result in massive civilian casualties. US Arms should not be used to kill civilians

2) There is no military solution here and we are providing arms to Israel on a path that has not led to peace, has not led to security, neither for Palestinians nor for Israelis. It is a dead end.

3) Tried to raise both these concerns with State Dpt. leadership but there was no appetite for discussion. People in the State Dpt. and in Government who have reached out to me to express their support and how horrific they find the US Policy and yet are being told when they try to raise these concerns, look you can get emotional support if you're finding this difficult we'll find you something else to work on but don't question the policy because it is coming from the top

And John Paul is absolutely correct when he states the fact that US Arms are used to massacre civilians. The continuous bombardment of Gaza has resulted in the killing of thousands of innocent people, mostly children and women.

I agree with him very strongly that there is no military solution to this and as history has shown so far. Using his words, it's a dead end that leads nowhere but it perpetuates the cycle of violence, death and destruction.

As for his last point I think this is a topic of separate thread as it exposes Biden's Policy on this particular issue where there is clearly a major concern about what he called the horrific US Policy as expressed by members of the State Department and the Government who are not allowed to question what is coming from the top...

Something I've known for ages. If people could only see how corrupt our 'government' really is, more corrupt than organized crime imo. Only self-serving , no wonder the world hates the US.

They love wars , want to keep them ongoing as it's profitable ,divides us ,and sadly keeps the population down.
So sick of the government. This politician is an exception off course, unless it's just theater.

Tale as old as time,
beauty and the
Nicholas Cage style gunrunners posing as politicians selling arms to both sides of conflicts
to destabilize and occupy regions so they can attain infinite wealth through world domination.
That's how that song goes now.
I'll phone Disney.

EDIT: Not the employee who resigned. His bosses.

I agree that sometimes it sounds as a wild conspiracy but take a look at what he said

His own words

War is very profitable. Extremely profitable I would say.

Never heard of him. He was only there 11 years. Doesn't sound 'senior' to me.
He had a difference of opinion on how things were going so he quit. So what?

The CNN article goes on with State Department spokesperson Matt Miller saying -

“With respect to this specific criticism that has been aired, we have made very clear that we strongly support Israel’s right to defend itself. We are going to continue providing the security assistance that they need to defend themselves. We think they have a right, not a right but an obligation, to defend themselves against these terrorist attacks – I think any country would do that."

You can't live with Israel defending itself ... then leave. So he did. WHATEVER.

It doesn't matter what you have heard or haven't. His testimony and experience is valuable and exposes the US Policy on this matter i.e US Arms used to massacre civilians in wars between other countries.

You're getting a little angry again?

I wasn't referring to the guy who resigned.
I was referring to his bosses,
and no, this behavior is
exactly what the movie "Lord of War" was all about.

WHAT are you talking about? I haven's said 'I heard' about anything.
You are making things up again.

He's just a guy who worked there for 11 years and disagrees with the politics so he quit. He doesn't 'expose' anything. And he has no 'testimony' ... just a complaint that the policies don't match his own politics.

You're getting a little angry again?

I'm never angry. That's another thing that you just make up all the time.
However, you certainly are EMOTIONALLY INVESTED in this crap.
Nonstop propaganda. Truly odd.

It seems from your response you can't really deal with facts.

Let's see one of them from this...'just a guy' person who randomly ended up in the State Department...

it's an uncontroversial fact that US Arms should not be used to Massacre civilians and should not be used to result in massive civilian casualties. US Arms should not be used to kill civilians

War is a very dirty and ugly thing. If more understood that, there might just be less of a urge to start one. Once started, then the cause must be delt with. Hiding fighters by mixing in public is not a good idea for the public.

Regardless of the war I hope it causes an ever greater number of moron woke progressives to resign their positions of power and influence.

They can give their old jobs to a porcupine or something. Quite useless, but not actively harmful (unless approached of course.)

Well he doesn't really need to leak anything,
because

1. The GVT admitted they gave billions in aid to Iran, knowing they could
use it to fund Hamas, and that they had that allegiance. If it wasn't intentional on their part,
then they have an IQ of potato, but potatos can't tie a tie, so that rules that out (barely).

2. It's well known that the USA supports Israel which some say crossed that line.

3. It's also well known "we" sent money to other terrorist groups,
and in fact STILL, to this day, send money to the Taliban,
which is still classed as a Global Terrorist group.

Everything he's saying is actually already corroborated by either declassified papers, Congressional C-SPAN coverage, speeches or public White House press briefings.

Even if it wasn't literally US weaponry, it would actually be irrelevant, because either way it was still US money that purchased a lot of those weapons, and that should be just as alarming.

Its not odd.

There is a war on for the American mind.

It start the moment the news of an attack on Israel by Palestinian militants. There was no time for grief, for sympathy, for a humanitarian pause. There was, however, an IMMEDIATE call for restraint by Israel. And an accusation that they dropped the ball with their intelligence community. Which has evolved into suspicion about Netanyahu. And now reports that his support is eroding.

PROPAGANDA another tool of the attack.

I'm frankly sick of the contribution to this cause here. If we ignore the propaganda instead of trying to convince them they are wrong. It's only a handful, but its contribution.

The nightmares I'm starting to have are not putting me of a mind to continue to debate with propagandists. It gives them a platform.

The worst you can do to a social media antagonist is ignore them.

As pointed out by one of our former U.S. President's, Benjamin Netanyahu is either Compromised, or a Coward.

From 3 weeks ago: theconservativetreehouse.com... ni/

He has chosen "the most bloody" route for damaging HAMAS.

But if the people of Israel want to keep him, there's nothing we can, or should, do about it.

You posted his OPINION. That's not a FACT. Learn the difference.

FACT - no where does the CNN article say this guy was a SENIOR State Department official. You made that up. So the fact is that your thread title and premise is false - as usual.

FACT - he's just a guy with an opinion that is different than State Department policy, so he quit. SO WHAT?

FACT - the rest of the State Department continue to support the US policy and mission with Israel.

FACT - you like the reason he quit so you are propagating it here. It matches your own agenda.

Those are the facts. Deal with them.

It more leans towards Netanyahu being compromised in both ego and revenge.

True. There is that, isn't there? The continued non stop propaganda is bizarre behavior. Probably should just ignore them. It doesn't do any good to enter into discussions with them. Only feeds them.

They're literally sending money to the Taliban and "accidentally" leaving behind US tanks and APCs and rocket launchers in Afghanistan,
and sending funds for HAMAS's war effort.
Why would they not supply Israel with weapons too?
They're making bank on this.
Come on now.

It ain't about taking sides,
it's about who profits from the fighting.
Ya'll are looking at this too narrowly.
