Find proof of likely crime and/or innocence,

If there’s something that appears that it could be criminal, ask for an explanation.

Subject of investigation responds with explanation and actual background info.

Subject is not expected to say “nuh uh this is stupid you shuddup and go away” ….. as a lot of you guys like to do.

Even if you’re innocent, you’re expected to actually be part of the process and help rule people out, and catch the bad guy.
