"MPs too threatening with resignation or becoming independent."

Good we could do with rooting out anti semites and Hamas apologists.

The same can be argued about those who are islamophobes. You see what happens when you engage in this rhetoric?!

"I am sure a good number of the 67 millions are against the war."

You are?

Bless you.

I think most folk want a two state solution. Sunak and Starmer included.

Me, too.

Any evidence that the majority of my "compatriots" are so in favour?

There are quite a few millions of us, you know?

Yes I said there are 67 millions of you.
And also said

You see what happens when you give unequivocal support?

Even Biden realised that nothing much can be achieved by Israel and spoke about a 2 state solution.

Imagine you get sacked as an MP because you argue there should be ceasefire. That's the absurdity of modern days politics. It's like getting dismissed because you say there are only two genders...

Islamophobes?

Like, not being very keen on Jihadi terrorists who want to kill us?

Nothing against Islam. Just not too keen on Jihadi idiots like Hamas, Isis, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah and such.

His party is in a turmoil given that he chose to give unequivocal support to the State of Israel.

His party is in that much turmoil that if there was a General Election tomorrow they would probably win an overall majority.
He has taken them from being the unelectable disgrace they were under Corbyn to in touching distance of being in government.

That's NOT an endorsement by me by the way just the truth.

He has condemned Hamas but not the Israeli Army.

Whereas Corbyn et al have condemned Israel and not Hamas.

Nobody can dictate to elected members what they can or cannot say.

But a political party can suspend a member for whatever it see's fit.....and they can withdraw an MP's whip.
They haven't been suspended or dismissed from being an MP......that is until the next election when if things remain as they are they can stand as Independents or any other political party and the electorate decide.

An observation; the majority of Labour councillors who have resigned are Muslims - hardly a surprise.

Ah. Back to the two gender thing, are we? How very Borg of you.

Sacked as an MP?!!!!

No, from the party.

They are still MPs.

Do you see the absurdity?

To be fired because you want a ceasefire and peace. That's crazy.

Same when one is fired because they state there are only two genders.

Crazy world...

Fired because the party platform wasn't followed. "Ceasefire" does not mean peace. You have been told this before. "Ceasefire" means stopping Israel from protecting itself and letting Hamas hit again and again and again. To Hamas a 'ceasefire' just means RELOAD TIME. What is 'absurd' is for a non UK person to complain about UK party politics that he doesn't even understand.

To be fair, I do complain about US politics sometimes (cough!) but only cos it tends to affect us folk but at least I do have some grasp of the basics.

But being lectured on the stances that our politicians should take by someone who plainly has no clue is just... Irritating?

You don't need to know much to see the state of disintegration of British Politics.

Imagine you get sacked as an MP because you argue there should be ceasefire. That's the absurdity of modern days politics. It's like getting dismissed because you say there are only two genders...

Still your attempt at answering makes no difference. The absurdity is visible and clear.

My statement isn't absurd. It's rock solid.

Absurd?

Yes, that's you thinking a party can 'sack" an MP.

They are still an MP.

Sorry, but you do need at least a modicum of knowledge about our politics before you weigh in about it.

Deny Ignorance.

It might help you, though, if you did?

Your comments, please?

How can you have a ceasefire with folk like this?

'Hamas vows to repeat October 7 attacks and bring about the 'annihilation' of Israel while cynically saying it 'did not want to hurt civilians' as it slaughtered 1,400 people 'but there were complications on the ground'"

Worth repeating.

The title of this thread says they were suspended for 'cease fire' and 'peace' comments. But going to a pro-Palestinian rally and yelling the battle cry 'between the river and the sea' are not 'cease fire' nor are they 'peaceful'. Those are words used by Palestinians and Hamas calling for the violent overthrow and destruction of Israel. Nothing 'peaceful' and 'ceasefire' about them.

Yeah, they might as well have shouted for Libensraum

Your labour party is in a turmoil because of their 'unequivocal' support...

Firstly it's not my labour party.

Secondly I think unless a video emerges of Starmer shoving greasy piglets up his bum, then they are nailed on to be the next government cos they are up against the clown show that the tories have turned into.
