Nope. If there are any instructions, make to most of your life or don't. Nature has it sorted either way.

I don't know any more (or less ) than you do. I just wanted everyone to know that ATS staff are equally in the dark. Don't know what precipitated this last event, don't know who caused it, don't know who is still in charge or not, and don't know if it will be fixed, or when, or how.

What I do know is that if ATS falls, I will miss it greatly. We have all built something pretty wonderful and historic here, and now that it is gone, a hole will be left that will be ultimately filled by something else. I've made a great many friends here.

What I really want to know is who's on first and what the score is hopefully it's a win-win situation this game .... And while I'm at it can someone please tell me what these little symbols mean and our profiles is lightning bolt and this trophy and what else is yeah just those two things I've asked before but nobody's been kind enough to answer how fastly looked through the site to try and figure out but no so who's cool enough to tell me without mentioning the word dick or some other stupid f****** word of profanity...wonder who

I don't know...Things are still going on in this world and life is still happening. Still plenty of news to report and subjects to be written about. WE are more then capable of starting quality threads and doing what we always do. We are still in control of creating content to an extent.

All the previously banned members have got a new lease on their ATS life. They could've signed back up and been a contributing member. They could've made quality threads and become part of the community again. I actually miss some of them because they brought a different perspective or gave a bit of grit to the community.

If ATS was to shut down today, how would you want to be remembered? Would you want your last posts to be remembered and captured in the internet history books as the ones that shut ATS down? That fame is short lived and doesn't travel well to other online forums...or would you want your last posts to be the best ones you ever made?


Anyhow, I hope everything works out well here and ATS survives.

I think the best way to win this is to just go on like nothing happened, ignore those who will take advantage of this , because at one point everyone who are genuinely honest recognisable members and posters continue to put their stories out .

It's not the statistics that makes the members It's the stories and replies they put out there

My original account has no email address attached to it, the password has been changed and I am trying to figure out WTF is going on, I can't recover a password or generate a new one if my old account doesn't have an email address.

I had the exact same issue! Maybe this site won't be around much longer...sad...

That's what is broken. Apparently the database that held all that information got nuked, so no one can log in, or recover their password.

Thanks for that, but that was one of the account bans I already knew of.

What I haven't seen is post removals or edit.
While both have to be done by someone with staff powers (and account bans can only be done by a supermoderator or an admin, if I'm not mistaken, "normal" mods don't have that power), the fact that we have witnessed only one type of action and not the others may give a better idea of what is going on to someone that knows more than I do about how the code works.
