Usually, hacks are done with a specific purpose, like killing the whole site and ask for a ransom, or to do something nasty to specific members.
In this case all appear to have been affected in the same way and the only thing that appears to have been affected is members' permissions, so I think this is more likely some kind of database glitch.

Remember the twilight zone ep where aliens messed with that small town just to see what would happen?

In the end we never got to see Beezer's pole dance routine.

What an anticlimactic ending.

It's like all of our passwords were changed. As a former hacker, and one currently in school for cyber security, I know of no hack that could do so.

I think its the end of ATS .. expecting a 404 anytime soon

I suppose that with access to the database that would be easy.

Something like "UPDATE Users SET Password='asdasdasd'" would work, as it would change everyone's password (assuming there's a table called "Users" that has a column named "Password", I never had access to the database or the code to know how things realy are).

Sorry to ankle bite, but to whose standard? Debunked ideologies like an Israeli missile strike on a hospital or ones about Covid-19, Q-Anon, Soros? What's debunked or not debunked can clash sometimes.

But hey, I don't own this place, this site wants to go "No moderation" (by force or otherwise), it will be interesting to see a bunch of pussy avatars until it's washed away, like a mandala. Never though I'd see an invasion of that style here, but I should have guessed.

I don't know if this has any significance. But last night I took a screen shot when everyone got logged out. These were the user accounts still logged in:



Here is a screenshot of who is currently logged in:



The users A, DontTreadOnMe, and Shadowblade are still logged in. And there is another DontTreadOnMe23 that is now logged in.

In any event when everyone else was logged out, those were the accounts that didn't get logged out.
