Yes, there was intelligence that was missed. They were also very surprised that Hamas knew so much about their weak points but that is being said to have been due to the humanitarian jobs given to Palestinians, only to have them ultimately turn out to be spying for Hamas or worse.

Its the fault of Hamas that the innocent Palestinians are wounded and dead.

So why aren't the protesters mad at Hamas? Why aren't they protesting radical Islam that condones and funds jihad?

I appreciate their sentiment but they have the wrong target. So that is worse than just remaining silent.

If a criminal took you as a hostage (human shield). If you were killed by police during the attack, will your family sue the terrorist or the police department? It is the responsibility of the good force to protect innocent civilians.
