They want control of everything and everyone.

Unfortunately the world is populated by canon fodder.

That's blatantly obvious

The far-right card doesn't work well I am afraid.

Really ?

Popular far-right video sharing platform Rumble is riddled with election misinformation, study says.

Just stop

Your source seems to be very "global orientated" I'm not surprised they view the site as right wing and showing election missinfo.

I watched the election I think they're referring to in real time btw. First hand. I saw first hand how it was handled and how the numbers jumped about.

I'm not surprised that this globally orientated company is rejecting criticism of an election for a nationally populist candidate. One whom probably seriously disagrees with ethos such as their own.

Nearly 3 years on, and still zero evidence of any wrong doing.

Anyway, this is off topic.

Interesting to see the people who come out and support this bill.

With their smiley faces and comments lacking in real substance.

Even if you don't like Rumble - only completely brainwashed people (and I mean this sincerely) would not see the potential harm in this bill.

This gives the government too much power.

And people who are really into the bad crimes will find illegal ways to bypass this law.

The only thing this law prevents is free thought, free speech and privacy.

It's not going to get banned - it just comes under OFCOM regulation (same as all media is in the UK) so they have to remove child pornad terrorist materials within 100 days of an OFCOM complaint and the same reporting restrictions the media face on court cases/crime/defamation etc...still apply.

It's impossible for OFCOM to actively watch and rule on all content on such mediums - they only do investigations into the content after recieving a ew hundred complaints about content.

Fraud sites like Natural News will probably be banned as they're major false advertising and promote harmful 'cures' with no evidence which is illegal in UK medicine but there's zero chance of Rumble getting banned as no one watches it over here.

Very interesting indeed.
The woke brigade looks like they're enjoying the show.

If you have watched videos on Rumble there is no porn or other harmful materials that are not appropriate for children. This is an excuse to attack the platform on the basis of child protection. What they're after is free speech. They can't cope with criticisms of the war in Ukraine, the disastrous Covid policies, the government misinformation and disinformation, etc.

If they want to protect kids ( I am with them on this) better start banning transgender indoctrination and propaganda in schools and online, drag queen nonsense, and the woke ideology.

Its not just CP/terrorist material though..the bill states any content the governement finds "unnaceptable" and "offensive material"

Who chooses what material is offensive?

In Britain today-the offended are those who choose.

And,as being offended is a subjectve matter-anyone can be offended by anything--so now the government/cops can suddenly spy on everyone-because you can be damn sure everyone is offeneded by something.

It is an authoritarian bill I would expect to implemented by a country like China or Russia..and now Britain apparently.

And yet, people will still criticize Rumble sources as bogus and see Youtube as a truthful source. It's a joke. And this proves , that we know who allows free/truth speech and who doesn't.

I get you live in the UK but the actions by your Government are indefensible and people should be very worried in light of the recent actions an attempts to silence free speech and even more worried with the blatant interference in matters of privacy and employment.

It seems anyone under any circumstances and for whatever reason can become a target by the State. His/her employer can be asked or put pressure on to 'demonetize' them, fire them, close their bank accounts, and make their live hell.

I seriously doubt there is any legal substance on it or the fact they tried to bypass the judicial process and the courts of law. It's like a Coup D'etat...

The obscene publications act is a seperate matter.
My point was than the bill includes the governments ability to demand content to be removed which fall outside of the realm of explicit/pornographic material.

"Offensive material" can mean literally anything-the government can just say "we believe this comment/opinion/political statement may cause offence-therefore under our online safety bll we demand you remove it or will be fined millions of pounds."

That is FAR outside the area of protecting children from obscene or criminal material.

You made your point and nobody believes you as your arguments are very weak. You played the far right card and didn't work and you played the small number cards and didn't work.

If your arguments were correct then the UK Government wouldn't be running like nuts to silence Brand and ask Rumble and other platforms to demonetize him. They're clearly in panic. And it's a right wing government by the way! Russell Brand is left wing.

All your arguments have failed.

You beat me to it. The Obscene Publication Act and Ofcom decides whats offensive.

To others, this isn't thought patrol. Thats America's game and any woman who thinks her body is hers!

Ofcom.

Being that Rumble is so insignificant in France and the UK, why do you feel like they want to take the political hit of banning it?

That's even worse, and looks to be even more totalitarian.

Guess you missed that point.
