It wouldn't be the first time. They claimed Trump's apartment was 30,000 sq ft. It is actually about a third of that.

It actually seems that Trump did the maths but added his brand name as the increasing percentage factor within the calculation, does that sound about right?

How were "victims" injured by this alleged fraud?

Guess I should make it clear — factual numbers don’t lie.

“Cooked by Trump” — is fraud (allegedly).

I don't find that to be a problem. He is an exPOTUS and Trump name is already being licensed.

This is petty.

MAL is worth what someone would pay for it. Hard number to pin down.

Doesn’t sound petty to me.

Sounds more like the “tip of the iceberg”.

This is all about trying to embarrass and bankrupt the leading candidate of an opposing party. Nothing more. This is not a criminal case. He legally has still done nothing wrong.

Why is anyone celebrating this? Why is Trump even still in the new scycle 24/7. Living in your heads. I could care less if he said he has more money than Musk....

No one was hurt. Imagine building an empire and employing 10's of thousands of people but your government wants to bankrupt you.

Cannot wait for Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Where did I or the article imply that notion?

It's called 'fraud' and he got away with that one.

Don't insurance companies assess actual damages BEFORE they pay?

So an insurance company paid him out....and then recants? LOL.

That same article says....

While valuations for the 110,000-square-foot Mar-a-Lago are subjective, a recent Forbes appraisal of Trump’s net worth put the property's value at $150 million.

That was in 2016. I know in Florida my homes has gone from 270k to 490k since then. Property values in Florida are insane....

Not when it's also designated as a National Historical Landmark. Yet Trump has valued it as an unrestricted residence.

Explain first why knowing that piece of information is important.

Not sure of the position in the US but here if you deal with an insurer there is a duty of Utmost Good Faith.

If you breach that by making misrepresentations when you apply the insurer can void the policy and not pay out:

Unrestricted as to what? He still owns it. Its stilll his residence. It's still a 'club'. It still has a tangible 'worth'.

But what that amount is, not so simple. Many complicating factors. So it really does come down to a subjective opinion.

And most likely based on feelz about Trump, not the actual value of the property.

Same here.

So if the insurance company paid, they must have agreed.

you didn't, but if the party who you claim was hurt isn't suing him, then why would someone else? I mean, I do get the Ultra SJW mentality, if you deem something unjust has happened, pull up your Karen pants and ask to speak to the manager.
