Nobody can just bring criminal charges against somebody else until the police, after investigating accusations, pass it on to our CPS (Criminal Prosecution Service). If they decide there is a case to be answered, they rubber stamp it, giving the police the green light for the Police to proceed to chase Brand down. If the women's allegations cannot be substantiated/proven on investigation and I believe this scenario goes in front of the CPS too, then the Police will say that there is no criminal case to be heard/answered.

I think your side of the Pond, Lawyers have to provide the opposite party all their evidence and vice versa, otherwise no new evidence can be submitted in court. In the UK, the parties can hold back on evidence, particularly if it helps their case and it's something the Police investigation has not declared in their report. I'm sure Oldcarpy will correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Prosecutors have a strict duty to disclose all material to the Defence even if it doesn't help their case .

Defence lawyers tend to be all over it.

Evidence and statements have to be disclosed to the Defence. At an early stage.

what is good is how all the recent blurb has brought out all the actual fascists on the left and right.. the guilty until silenced theme is not making the west look good.. given we're coming up to a new election cycle its demonstrating how weak the hold the fascist uniparty actually has on the west..

but thats why these attacks have evolved to target the wives and kids, the salivating over not wishing johnson dead from covid but wishing his his/wife infant dead during childbirth really highlights that a lot of people just live in a red rage of hate..

its not good for society and while brand might be red meat thrown to satiate the hate its not going to stop the haters hating something else tomorrow as they'll evolve into become red shirts or black shirts,

there is now way out of the hate for most, its one of the reasons i see the west fragmenting into a sectarian world, we past the iconoclasm phase, well into the book burning phase and increasingly in the heretic burning stage..

I haven't come across such attack on basic rights before. Guilty until proven innocent coupled with an online mob that seeks revenge and retribution before even any trial commences. At the same time it seems perfectly fine for someone to be demonetized and destroyed on the basis of allegations made by anonymous people. Remember he wasn't demonetized because he was accused. He was accused
so he could be demonetized.

He was smart enough like JP to navigate the you tube guidelines and avoid
being shut down. While still getting his message across perfectly. So the guys
not stupid but you tube was not happy that he was able to circumvent. You
notice you tube demonetized without even being asked. They couldn't wait.

You could be true but I don't know if there allegations are fabricated. If they are then surely this is concerted effort to destroy his career and reputation. But we don't know this.

The communists hate freedom of speech more than anything. They tried to cancel Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, Joe Rogan, Andrew Tate, Glenn Beck and now Russell Brand because he has spoken out against Blackrock and the pharmaceutical cartels in public.
