The alleged offences were committed many years ago and by definition the collection of any type of evidence is something that seems almost impossible.

If you can bring string evidence then yes you have a case. If you go about personal accounts and text messages then you haven't got much.

If this was true then any XY individual will be convicted on the basis of text messages, emails, end personal accounts but you need much more then this.

It's worth watching the Dispatches doc and Times write up as it's incredible investigative journalism with 100s of sources backing up the claims and a four year long investigation and written records of his actions from 2006ish onwards which debunks his delusional claims it's all lies by TPTB because he thinks he has influence when infact Times Insight Team and Dispatches have a long detailed history of exposing TPTB such as exposing Israel's illegal nuclear weapon programme, US use of international kidnap and torture of suspects in rendition etc...

There's verified phone forensics, testing, medical notes, frozen DNA samples from underwear/rape kit from a rape crisis centre in LA with LAPD having been contacted at the time. Under UK journalism law you can't publish such claims without dozens of media lawyers being satisfied the evidence is beyond doubt.

Obviously innocent until proven guilty but The Times and Dispatches have had a lot more people come forward with more serious allegations that they're thoroughly investigating and will make public if they turn out to be true -

Our of curiosity, if there was forensic evidence, DNA samples, etc, why did they wait 10-17 years to build up a case and didn't start much earlier?

Well the more I read about him the more I tend to think he was scum. However until someone comes forward and presses charges with actual evidence to prove their case then we are dealing with over reactions. His publisher and his agent has already dropped him without any charges being filed.

This seems like I have seen this before with Johnny Depp so I figured after that we would have at least learned to wait for both sides of the story.

What will be interesting if he wants to go after the paper for damages. I suspect it's unlikely because that is a box I think he doesn't want to open.

I think you should watch the video pertaining to the thread in question and attempt to comprehend the allegations being made against Brand in conjunction with what appears to be supporting evidence.

Phone messages are a form of evidence, also the evidence of brusing and other things optained at the rape centre are evidence of possible wrong doing, which was talked about in the documentary.
Now the documentary has aired other women are coming forward, just like in the Epstein and weinstein cases, when they feel they aren't alone others do come forward.

But refusal to do so does indeed suggest you lack knowledge pertaining to the subject being discussed.

You won't leave it to anything, Police don't need your approval, and nor do our courts of law if charges are levied against Brand at some point in the not-too-distant future, so there is that.

If you have DNA evidence or other types of forensic evidence then you may have a strong case. But you wait decades to take someone to court?? Something is not right here.

BTW How much longer do we have to wait before Dispatches finishes up the
big investigation into Epsteins list of names? What about that evidence? Kind
of a bigger deal than this Bland investigation wouldn't you agree?
