Good political comedy there.
The word is Fascii , not Fasces .
And that is the arms and stand of Lincoln's chair.
You didn't really expect them to use thin legs when holding up that kinda weight .
Gosh .
I was under the impression:
"fasces" was Vulgar Latin;
"fascio" was Italian?
You may be more inclined in etymology though.

Your title states --> "Representative Republicanism IS Fascism" (capital on the IS)
And then you say --> "I do not intend to trigger anyones delicacies with my choice of words. I am not attributing neither positive nor negative to the 'structure' of "fascism"."
I'm not triggered lol, I just think it's funny, that is the level of hypocrisy.
It would almost be like me starting a thread title of -->"Some Democrats are Smarter Than Others, But They're All Stupid"
And then follow that up with an opening line of "I do not intend to trigger anyone's delicacies with my choice of words. I am not attributing neither positive nor negative to the 'structure' of the word "stupid"."
You might want to choose better wording lol
Cheers - Dave
With the minds here on ATS, I could imagine such intelligent people being faced with a conundrum that the idea "fascism" and "republicanism" are the same, because you've been perverted with false understandings and realistically decades old WW2 propaganda. This experience is called being "red-pilled," prompting a profound shift in ones perspective, arguably revealing a more authentic worldview.

To be fair, the national socialists burned books.
Don't think fascists in Italy did.
They are different things.

You've obviously never read what fascism actually is.
Read Giovanni Gentile and/or Benito Mussolini and then you'll know what you're talking about.

And I don't think 90% of the people ITT understand what OP is trying to convey... so why are people bringing up what modern fascism is when OP is trying to explain how the symbolism of classical fascism is widely used for what it represented at a different time.

There you go again lol. republicanism or conservatism, if they can be equated as the same thing, is not fascism. Republicans are not the ones saying we have to ban free speech or "burn books" or censor words or force people into some kind of box. The democrats and lieberals are doing exactly that, they actually live and breath fascism. It's like the blatant corruption by the prime moron in Canada. It keeps getting caught in all manner of high crimes, nepotism, ethics violations, bangs a 14 year old girl and skates, high treason and sundry malfeasance, and it keeps saying that it didn't happen or "the other person experienced the sticking of my pecker in their ear differently or moistly." Then the bought and paid for CBC, Global, CTV, whatever media propaganda engine pipes up and says it didn't happen.

Nice thread, even when you took all the wind out of their sails there is always an outboard motor that runs on fear.
I think it's appropriate to leave a link to one of the ATS must read threads...
all roads lead to rome
Have fun
He took the wind out of no one's sails. He's referencing a history and trying to connect dots he doesn't have enough knowledge of to write about. He's not alone. Most of us are sketchy on our own history and it's nuances, let alone ancient history.
