I did read the article... What part let's you conclude that

it seems they are not viable in themselves

What they have grown is nothing more than a clump of cells.

Yes, a clump of stem cells that were reprogrammed to "gain the potential to become any type of tissue in the body."

If these stem cells are programmed to self organize into a human being, they could continue developing into something maybe not technically "human" in the traditional sense, but something resembling a human being. Or a mutant.

a kind of human that's cheaper than humans and robots as thing to be owned that allows the greenies the excuse to kill of the 6/7 billion useless poor humans they want to eradicate..

What makes you think it's cheap to clone a human being?

There is absolutely no financial investment to letting humans breed naturally, it's practically a renewable resource.

It may have been a different article where I read it, not the one below, but it does imply the same thing. I always read the OPs source and find a couple others to scan through just to get differing points of views.

There is also a significant unanswered question on whether these structures, in theory, have the potential to grow into a living creature. The synthetic embryos grown from mouse cells were reported to appear almost identical to natural embryos. But when they were implanted into the wombs of female mice, they did not develop into live animals. In April, researchers in China created synthetic embryos from monkey cells and implanted them into the wombs of adult monkeys, a few of which showed the initial signs of pregnancy but none of which continued to develop beyond a few days. Scientists say it is not clear whether the barrier to more advanced development is merely technical or has a more fundamental biological cause.

“That’s very difficult to answer. It’s going to be hard to tell whether there’s an intrinsic problem with them or whether it’s just technical,” Lovell-Badge said. This unknown potential made the need for stronger legislation pressing, he said.

scientific fact that you don't need xx and xy chromosomes for reproduction

Seems to me like you believe they can create life with something that has not even been proven past the 14 day mark.

How did an op about some crazy mad scientist Frankenstein stuff get turned into a trans debate? Anyone who thinks this affirms trans ideology is seriously wrapped up in twisted cult-think.

Exactly. Instead of being worried about the abominations to be created it is celebrated as a win for cross-dressers.

Welcome to the New America.

Its "weird Science" its not unrelated. Ethically this type of research would have been limited if not prevented in earlier times. The same might be said for sexual reassignment surgery. I am not saying its a 1:1 association but its hard not to see the parrallels in the context of runaway technocrats driving more outlandish and bizarre "science" into the mainstream

The only way these embryos will achieve viability is if God allows it.

-sigh-

They aren't embryos. They managed to grow a clump of cells using stem cells... they decided to try to make it look like an early stage human embryo, that is all. It is not, in fact, an embryo. Period.

This technique could very definitely be used to grow ideal replacement organs, if the stem cells are derived from the person needing the organ, once it is perfected, that is the promise of this kind of technology, that i am all in favor of.

But it is not an embryo. There is no developing fetus.

Ok, does sound like they aren't vial beyond with animals. Thanks for the value add.

So, with a 14 day legal cap, we'll never know for sure with human embryo...

Sure...
Problem with your statement is that even if you could proof it, you'd be guilty of a crime.

I think sometimes making oneself guilty of a crime to proof something in the name of science might be worth it...

Although I don't think it's the case, here!

They'd better work on animal embryos some more. Surely there are enough franken monsters floating in some hidden labs already...

I'm not the one trying to prove anything, you're the one that was making false claims.

Even though you just agreed with another user that "they aren't vial beyond with animal", therefore contradicting your previous claims.

The work also raises the question of whether embryo development could be mimicked past the 14-day stage.

This would not be illegal, even in the UK, as embryo models are legally distinct from embryos.

The work has, for the first time, achieved a faithful construction of the complete structure [of a human embryo] from stem cells" in the lab, "thus opening the door for studies of the events that lead to the formation of the human body plan," he said.

The researchers stress it would be unethical, illegal and actually impossible to achieve a pregnancy using these embryo models - assembling the 120 cells together goes beyond the point an embryo could successfully implant into the lining of the womb.

www.bbc.com...

This article states the reason why it would be impossible to achieve a pregnancy using these embryo models is because the the cells assemble past the point an embryo can be successfully implanted in a womb. So in a different experiment...program enough stem cells with the blueprint to become a human being, then implant these assembled cells into a uterus at a viable time or...grow them in an artificial womb, there's honestly no telling what will become of them until the experiment is actually achieved.

The public doesn't know if these types of experiments are being conducted privately in secret private labs somewhere in the world. There's a lot of things the public doesn't know.

i mean the y chromosome is getting smaller so one day us males could very well go extinct so methods like this will become necessary for the survival of our species.

In the other quotes posted by quint they didn't manage with animal embryos. I'm thinking it might be better not to go ahead with humans... Try and error approach to this research, seems cruel with animals already...

It's what happens when triggred people can't stay on topic. Interesting that's the only thing you notice.

I noticed an unhealthy obsession with the topic too. Good thing we're all here to help, learn and grow with each other.
