The fact that those kids were sent home from school is perfectly explainable down to the electricity supply being out, that's what schools do.

Anyhoo the similarities in that picture between the Hawaii wildfires and the 1906 San Francisco fires after the quake cannot be denied and are apparent to anyone who cares to look.




Roads look the same, some trees still standing, and just about everything else is burnt to a crisp.

I don't have an issue with them being sent home.....it's just that Psychotrail was adamant that the children were on summer vacation.

Because when I looked I found this:

The kids are unaccounted for as many of them were at their homes. This was because Lahaina's main school, Lahainaluna High School, closed early on August 8, which was the first day back for the students, due to electricity outrages, and were sent back home early.

my mistake August 8th is first day back to school for most Hawaiian kids , but there were power outages due to high winds 80 mph plus so kids were sent home .
The fire started on the 8th of August .

Yeh, it was the mother of all earthquakes that led to the fires think i said so somewhere above.

Estimated to have been in the region of 7.9 on the Richter scale.

Did you know that they fought the fires with dynamite?

Apparently, the decision to use dynamite was a desperate measure taken in the face of the catastrophic disaster.

And undertaken for several reasons, mainly in an attempt to create what's known as a firebreak along the waterfront, and also for purposes of clearing debris.

Obviously using dynamite in such a manner turned out to have rather unintended consequences possibly resulting in the destruction of buildings that otherwise may even have been saved.

The image you provided was taken 41 days after the fire. And it was not just fire that produced the damage....many buildings were blown up ....levelled to the ground by dynamite and other high explosives.

It's been an interesting research.

There are plenty of images Itisnowagain.

The similarities damage-wise when comparing the two events are self-evident.

The 1906 earthquake caused widespread destruction all over the city and surrounding area in San Francisco.

With buildings and infrastructure heavily damaged or collapsed, rupturing gas lines, and water mains, spilling lamp oil, and anything else that was flammable all over the place, which created ideal conditions for fires to start.

Blaming them for dynamiting fire breaks is just silly, as the majority of the damage was again caused by the earthquake and not TNT, so there is that.
