As with insider trading, Gates, Bezos, Oprah, Zuckerberg et al may have had some 'insider' tips to be ready to invest biggly in Lahaina property but as for the planning? I seriously doubt they're at that level of 'need to know'.

As long as the rich and famous can profit, they probably don't even want to ask questions. The damage is done, so why not capitalize on it eh?
Yes, maybe. But they know that it was deliberate. She knows. She just looks guilty handing out the stupid pillows, her body language and everything. She makes me want to vomit, so fake and just screams evil.

Well, most rich, famous and powerful people have a high degree of narcissism statistically. And they sleep as well as poor people who aren't narcissists.

Hating them doesn't hurt them in the least; they have their own tribe of adorers.

So how does ignoring this possible deliberate act of arson hurt them? Oh that's right, it doesn't either.
It just that this is evil act #4989999999 , it doesn't end. It will never end. But ignoring it will certainly keep it going.

we have to try to connect the dots and at least try to wake up more to the corruption.

And exactly what do you think we should do to hold people we suspect of great evil accountable? Maybe a vigilante blanket party? Write our congressman? Decide Oprah is the mastermind because she's a rich, self-serving poser and give ourselves ulcers obsessing over it?

If you see wrong and it's in our power to change it, do everything you can. If it's not in your power, do yourself a favor and don't destroy your own health by emotionally investing in the situation.

I'm getting old. Couldn't find that word to put at the top of my list earlier.

'' incompetence ''

I watched one news report about that fire and in that interview with a fire chief or some such the overwhelming sense i got about him was just that, incompetence.

I wish I could say this was the only time I have gotten this impression but it seems that more and more, what I am seeing is just that, our levels of competence have not risen to a high enough degree to cope with the evolving complexities of not only dramatic changes in our environment but our civilization over all.

That and an attitude of ''who gives a #'' until the camera is on and the bull# flows in order to make excuses.

From a comment below this video:

"Maui passed legislation just a few weeks ago that states that, in the case of a wildfire, the government can take your land. Strange timing for sure. This was passed before the fire."

That's too much of a coincidence. People need to wake up!

It's also not true. If it is, please cite the ordinance. Don't be a gullible idiot and believe what you hear without evidence.

Sometimes (most of the time) a fire is just a fire. I don't know much of Hawaii weather this summer, but in most of America it has been abnormally hot and dry. I feel like if I were to flick a match into my lawn right now, the whole town would burn down.

I don't think it'd be a wise thing to do what do you think.

It would be why my brush piles are getting out of hand. I'm not burning anything outside in this climate!

What do you think about the emergency siren not being sounded?

Maybe the people who are supposed to sound it were running away from being burnt to death? Maybe the wiring and/or controls were burnt rendering them inoperable? Maybe all of the emergency response personnel were out doing other things during an emergency?

I thought there was something dodgy about this fire.... never said anything to anyone but my first thoughts were...

'Some rich people don't want the lower classes on the Island!'

Seriously wouldn't surprise me.

Similar to wealthy neighbourhoods in London and elsewhere... these people are all for Illegal immigrants but they wouldn't want them next door!

The man who decided not to sound the alarm can be found online telling you why it was not sounded.

Do some research.

You make a very wild claim here AL. Very wild. As you seem to have taken this notion so seriously, what other sources of information do you have to share with us to substantiate this claim. Other than this blogger. Please help us understand why you have settled on this belief.

Too much doesn't add up. Just answer one question. Why did the police block people from leaving? What good reason could there have been ?
They were fleeing being burned alive, but were blocked. Why?

I don't know.

Stupid cops maybe?
Miss communication from headquarters maybe?
False reports by witnesses maybe?

Those are just guesses cuz I don't know. But I'm not the one making this wild claim with nothing but one blogger to back up the claim. So, do you or don't you have more to offer us concerning your claim. A police report maybe. Maybe a retracted police report. Anything

It's not a claim that they got blocked in. You don't understand the burden of proof. Proof has been given that this happened. It's not a claim; we have videos of police blocking them in saying "I'm just following orders."

So no; it's not "stupid cops" or any other bs you just made up. They were given orders to block the escape. They've said so themselves.

The question is who gave the orders?

More over; it doesn't look good for Oprah; she's a billionaire but can't be bothered to donate herself? She set up a fundraiser and is asking regular americans to donate. Same with the Rock. They are doing this because they obviously seen the speculation they were involved, and responded by trying to look empathetic. It just makes them look more guilty, because they want YOU to donate.

Rolling my eyes man.

www.civilbeat.org...
just a whole bunch of coincidences. Who would have thought that Hawaii Islands was a place for incompetency in government at this level. Well, it is a deep blue State, so I suppose I can understand that part. Yea, on second thought stupid democrats makes more sense.

So at best complete total failure of the system and incompetence from authorities we pay taxes to and trust with our safety? Or…?

Why defend incompetence of our leaders an no outrage as this complete failure of authority?

I'm not defending sh1t. A bunch of f ups doesn't necessarily equal some grand conspiracy.
