For the title, I also think that if he is convicted and sentenced to prison, the options are to have secret service in there with him or some sort of special cell block.

I am asking because I do not know. It would seem to me that these supposed federal issues should all be tried in a federal system. My guess is that all of these local charges are because that way Trump will not be able to pardon himself when he wins the election (if we even have one). Any legal type constitutional smart people here that know a real answer to this question?

seeing how trump is a ex president and rates secret service protection, i would think that the States and Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) would work out some kind of deal similar to what the The U.S. Marshals Service does with states to house federal prisoners during pretrial detention and transport.

Lets be real here, there are hours upon hours of DNC candidates saying and questioning elections. Somehow, that is ok. If Donald asked the same questions they did, going back for many many years, then only his questioning is illegal.

Its freaking silly and we all know it is, but we are caught in some oddball psychodrama of the powerful people and our opinion on that will not matter.

Law does not matter anymore. And it doesnt matter because there is a philosophy that now requires it doesnt matter because certain people have come to the conclusion that they are smarter and better than anyone else and everyone that disagrees with them just need to STFU.

I mean seriously, that is what is going on, there is no point anymore of arguing this with words. Only action will solve this problem and that being so, I wish I didnt have to see it. I love all of us Americans, but at this time so many of us are obviously deranged.

Just gotta make it painless as possible at this point. Take their kids,re educate them/brainwash and raise them as independent thinkers and not lock step democrats. the problem here is what is being created in crafting these divisions to destroy both plurality and democracy to replace it with a single authoritarianism.

worth rolling back a century to when kipling suggested the us should be shouldering the white mans burden of evolving from a republic to be the empire, it makes sense that is what is happening today with the destruction of identities and borders, less one world gov and more the us republic evolving into the American empire..

the question is what'll happen next, for the roman republic it started a series of civil wars.

the thing is this stuff creates deep divides, some of which like sectarian divides are insurmountable in every day interactions..

can't profess to know where we'll end up but at this point its no where good..

i wopuld say our parliamentary democracy appeared after the mise of Lewes not before and those principles came out of war not from some legal cornerstone lost when the Normans invaded.. battles, wars, lots of death and destruction into and out of being a republic in response is how that framework was created.. the magna carter like all similar documents are expressions of war..

For all Americans:- all the Magna Carta is a Carta/contract between the then King John and a group of rebel barons. They forced the King to agree to protect church rights but moreover to not imprison any baron unjustly and to limit the money the King could take off them for paying the Kings army. It has absolutely nothing to do with ordinary folk. So please stop using it as an excuse for a bill of constitutional rights. They come later under other Kings.

No one is above the law, not even the President. Why on Earth would you want the President or ex-President to be above the law? To commit crimes up to and including murder while getting off the hook? Under the law, real criminals are punished and imaginary criminals, of course, are not... this may be what is confusing you. The justice system requires something called evidence. Which Trump was lacking, by the way, when he accused the election of being "stolen." But he knew that the whole time!
