It's weird that a prosecutor from the state where a potential crime was committed is the prosecutor for that case?

Technically it's not a law. It's a regulation.
These rules are considered legally binding just as any statute.
Also, it's not without precedent. In 2003, Comey appointed Patrick Fitzgerald as special counsel despite him being an active US attorney.
And likely sold the contents for Biden crime family income, as emails on Hunter Biden's laptop indicate.
That's not true. Fitzgerald's duties as a federal attorney ended in 2012.

They may be legally binding but there are no penalties listed for violating any of the regulations in Title 28 (the section pertaining to the DOJ.)
That's not true. Fitzgerald's duties as a federal attorney ended in 2012.
Last time I checked 2003 comes before 2012.

Did you catch Rep. Langworthy's interview on Fox News last night? The GOP has no evidence that Biden broke the law.

How convenient. I smell a rat. Now they can drag this out till forever. What a crock of crap.
You probably should have read the article before blasting out the first thought that popped into your mind.
If you had, you would know that the negotiations for a plea deal that the judge imposed on both the prosecution and the defense last month have collapsed. In return for pleading guilty to the two misdemeanors, the defense wanted the prosecution to agree that Hunter couldn't be prosecuted for any other of his business deals that might have been crooked. The prosecution refused, and now Hunter wants to withdraw his guilty pleas and take the case to trial and take his chances with a jury.
That's why the prosecutor is now getting special counsel status--so he can take the case to trial independent of Merrick Garland.

Bank records are evidence.
Biden's own admission on live TV is evidence.
Phone records are evidence.
