Rudy Giuliani has conceded that he made public comments falsely claiming two Georgia election workers committed ballot fraud during the 2020 presidential race but is arguing that the statements were protected by the First Amendment.
That assertion by Giuliani, who as part of Donald Trump’s legal team tried to overturn results in battleground states, came in a filing Tuesday in a lawsuit by Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss. Their lawsuit from December 2021 accused the former New York City mayor of defaming them by falsely stating that they had engaged in fraud while counting ballots at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Though Giuliani is not disputing that the statements were false, he does not concede that they caused any damage to Freeman or Moss. That distinction is important because plaintiffs in a defamation case must prove not only that a statement made about them was false but that it also resulted in actual damage.
Moss told the U.S. House committee investigating the Capitol riot that her life was shattered by the false accusations. She said she received hateful and racist messages, some “wishing death upon me. Telling me that I’ll be in jail with my mother. And saying things like, ‘Be glad it’s 2020 and not 1920.’”
Freeman said in her testimony: “There is nowhere I feel safe.”
One question keeps popping into my head... who protects our entire nation from defamation? These people can file a lawsuit and protect themselves, but these lies caused injury to our entire nation, to our legal system and our electoral process, our democracy. We all got defamed, as a country, and there is really no way to file a lawsuit as a nation against these liars and opportunists.

Lets clear up the difference between opinions and lies.
The 2020 election was irregular and full of problems. There is no way to know how many valid votes were cast for which candidates.
There were not many audits. Recounts and audits are not the same.
Additionally, with all the shenanigans from the Russia collusion witchhunt, the Ukraine phone call impeachment witchhunt and hiding the Biden laptop and lying about it by the FBI, some could say the election was heavily and unjustlyt influenced.
We know that the EC voted for Biden, so he is the legit POTUS.
But it is not a lie to say there was problems in the election and that Trump might have actually won the voting.
It's UNKNOWABLE. Therefore, what everyone believes or not about the election is an OPINION.
And that's just the way it is.
Frankly, I resent someone telling me my opinion is a lie. No it isn't. Neither is yours. Even if we disagree.
He called the 62-year-old temp worker a “professional vote scammer,” a “hustler” and a “known political operative” who “stuffed the ballot boxes.”He showed snippets of the video and repeatedly identified Moss and Freeman by name, calling them “crooks” who “obviously” stole votes.

It says nowhere that he has conceded he lied....A direct quote would be nice.
In a two-page statement filed in federal court just before midnight Tuesday, Giuliani said he “does not contest” that his statements, which fueled a torrent of public attacks on the workers — Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss — were “false” and “carry meaning that is defamatory.”

Has Rudi been disbarred yet?
“He claimed massive election fraud but had no evidence of it,” the three-member panel declared in a 38-page decision. “By prosecuting that destructive case Mr. Giuliani, a sworn officer of the Court, forfeited his right to practice law.”
Giuliani plans to challenge the panel’s findings and recommended sanction in front of a larger bar-discipline board. His ultimate disbarment or other penalty would be decided by the D.C. Court of Appeals.
“We are obviously disappointed by the Committee’s decision but look forward to filing a vigorous appeal,” said Barry Kamins, one of Giuliani’s attorneys in the bar proceedings.

2 ladies in Georgia getting harassed. Or an entire nation being undermined by a cheating regime and an illegitimate, unelected leader.
In 2024 when Biden somehow "gets" 120 million votes, people like Rudy will still be viewed as a villain.
