So. How did the USA get to this point? Topsy turvy is being kind.
Seems like the last few years, and especially since the Covid years, that the USA and the world has moved in the wrong direction.
It goes beyond our politicians and it appears that there is a lot of rot and corruption in many places: schools, churches, the family.

This is an older article, but it goes to the history of how we got here. It was gradual. Over decades.
And the that fundamental transformation that Mr Obama talked about.

This explains it.....
www.realclearpolitics.com...#!

One mastermind of the ’60s revolution was Bill Ayers, who was first a progressive educator, then a bomb-throwing revolutionary in the Weather Underground, and then a fugitive from justice. It was while he was hiding from the FBI for the entire decade of the 1970s that Ayers realized that violent revolution could not topple the government unless it was first rotted from within. In “Prairie Fire” and other radical writings, Ayers described how young people, minorities and women could be turned against the system, and most importantly how revolutionaries who wore suits and ties could infiltrate boardrooms, political parties, the military, the courts and other institutions of society in order to bring about change from within.
....

Under such a scenario, the Constitution becomes a tool for social engineering rather than a protection against government excess, as was originally intended.

It too is all part of the plan. After all, judges are lawyers, and lawyers are graduated from law schools, and the top law-school students come from the top Ivy League and radical-left colleges, and most radical college students come from public schools, and public schools are to progressivism what politics is to the swamp. You can thank John Dewey, and you can thank Bill Ayers, who after he returned to public view, became an influential educator of educators at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

In “Prairie Fire,” Ayers outlined how the revolution would transform America. Yes, violence would play a role. Yes, bankrupting the system by increasing dependence on government would play a role. Yes, spurring foreign wars to spread America’s military too thin would play a role. Yes, encouraging division among the races would be part of it, as would weakening the influence of religion on the masses, but if you wanted to win the revolution, Ayers made it perfectly clear how to begin: “The real question is: Who will control the schools?”

How did we get here? The answer by now should be obvious.

Yup. Spot on.

Communist (or whatever Marxist denomination) have infiltrated all levels of government and society.

Fun fact though, communists are specifically NOT protected by the civil rights act.

Maybe a useful tool for later.

I think it happened when we became a society where the term individualism became taboo.

People want to understand what box you fit in, and if you can’t identify one, people automatically think you’re a pariah, dumb, or both.

Society is uncomfortable with world views that are self constructed or don’t fit into a handful of easily identifiable camps.

That’s our problem, it’s not the politicians or oligarchs, they’re merely symptoms. It’s the populace who are so afraid to analyze things on an issue by issue basis. People are petrified to walk through life without constant validation. Our ancestors who risked everything would be rolling in their grave. America was one of the first modern democracies, and we helped start a domino effect for a majority of the world (without debating the current timeline).

If they aren’t, they should be, along with Nazis and anyone else who most of us find distasteful at best.

If we as a society can’t squash bad ideas, that’s on us. That’s the thing about free societies without censorship.

If we’re a nation or society of conviction and freedom, we shouldn’t feel attacked or belittled by ideas that are easy to argue.

Saw a HUGE pride flag mural at the mall today. I'm so sick to death of everything right now!
I doubt I will set foot in that mall again ever, won't miss it.
Several resteraunts/bakeries too in my area had a pride flags/stickers by the entrance, will never go there again.
Same with web sites or content creators that push some agenda, never go there again.

That and waking people up, is for now , all we can do.
It's everywhere, the corruptions, the propaganda.

As long as they abide by the laws of the Constitution, which ironically protects us from Communist restrictions

I saved this snippet a while back from American Thinker, if I'm not mistaken.

instead of controlling populations by punishing dissent, it is possible to induce their cooperation though means of positive reinforcement: Now that we know how positive reinforcement works, and why negative doesn’t, we can be more deliberate and hence more successful, in our cultural design. We can achieve a sort of control under which the controlled… nevertheless feel free. They are doing what they want to do, not what they are forced to do. That’s the source of the tremendous power of positive reinforcement—there’s no restraint and no revolt. By a careful design, we control not the final behavior, but the inclination to behave—the motives, the desires, the wishes. The curious thing is that in that case the question of freedom never arises.

That would explain all the riots that go unpunished by on political faction while the other gets the iron fist treatment. Youth is not on our side in this fight.....

I honestly believe that the US is a predominantly conservative nation. For the last election, they had to cheat and make it seem like the liberals took the White House. They did so again during the 2022 elections when we know dang well they had a red wave but people like Kari Lake had the election stolen with the unbiased third party observer testifying in court that the election was an obvious sham.

Well, they cannot get away with staging the elections again not can they hack the vote, break chain of custody, or any of those other tactics that cannot be used again. So what will they do this time? Well, we have totally unchecked open borders and those crossing are not being documented while laws are being passed left and right to ensure illegals are given the vote. This go round, they may be able to win simply because these last years have seen at the very LEAST 25 milllion and maybe even 40 million plus coming across and I am sure they are being surgically installed where needed and promised all applicable perks, food stamps, and welfare payouts if they simply make sure to vote Democrat. And the fact the population of the US has increased by as much as an eight of third world, unskilled, barbaric, ungrateful hotel wrecking, looting, raping, murdering, gang affiliated filth in many circumstances, it’s enough for them to hold onto power for at least another four years while they figure out how to do it again next go round.

I understand what you're saying.

However, communism is antithetical to the US Constitution and our values of liberty and equal justice under the law.

They can enjoy all the rights protected by the Bill of Rights.

But being able to fire, or not hire, or prohibit them from patronizing your business because they are communists just makes sense to me.

As far as college age young people, I agree.

But there is a large proportion of high school aged kids who are rebelling against the woke agenda of the Rainbow Reich.

It should have been expected really. High school kids always reject what authority tries to push on them.

They've been at it a long time.

How long have they been saying things like "Our democracy"? When we are specifically a representative republic.

Subversion of the language is one of their most basic tools.

Now we have large numbers of the population that don't understand how the House and Senate are supposed to work.

That’s the point, they can’t impose their will because it’s in direct conflict with everything we believe. Better to let it get defeated in public opinion than bury it and let contrarians become martyrs.

I think you should get OTF of the USA, not a healthy place at all for anybody by the sounds of it!
However, I don't think that the likes of Trump, andHIS alter biting red brigade, would have been any help for you in stopping; wrecking, looting, raping, murdering, gang affiliated filth in many circumstances...

I gave you a wee star anyway!

Ayers and the embryo of the 1960 is, from my perspective, merely a modest thread in the current rot of this nations fabric.

A year or so ago I found a book that covers this ''how we got here question'' in a manner that I found to be a most compelling overview of our present debacle. It was written by a man named Kurt Anderson and titled
Fantasyland: How America Went Haywire; A 500-Year History
A quick teaser from Wiki states

Andersen describes the overall arc of the book:

America was created by true believers and passionate dreamers, by hucksters and their suckers—which over the course of four centuries has made us susceptible to fantasy...In other words: mix epic individualism with extreme religion; mix show business with everything else; let all that steep and simmer for a few centuries; run it through the anything-goes 1960s and the Internet age; the result is the America we inhabit today, where reality and fantasy are weirdly and dangerously blurred and commingled.

From this perspective, the ''how we got here'' is, indeed, gradual but not just over a half dozen decades but in a larger scope of half a millennium.

We've had a century or more of warnings from those who could see it afar off. Even the founders of this country wrote about it and spoke of it, but we didn't heed the exhortations to stay diligent, and here we are.

Never let the marxists get a foot in the door.

Yep. If you aren't like everyone else, chances are you'll be branded as an enemy, of some sort.

I'm white, middle-aged male, somewhat conservative, believe in a God/Goddess, of course I'm an enemy.

That whole white privilege thing.

With the overturning of Affirmative Action, this should/hopefully signal a turn to merit, over color of skin. Content of character, over color of skin.

He got it, why can't some of us??

You may want to not open that door you're thinking of. What is on the other side is NOT freedom and WILL come to haunt you.
