Might be because the quantities it exists in is much lower than let's say air pollution from fossil fuels therefore having a much lesser impact. A skunk makes a place stink but what if there is only one skunk on earth, similar to this.

To move, like dancing, is said to work wonders. Recently I heard that someone who smokes and moves a lot lives longer than someone who smokes and doesn't move often. Same with overweight or anything. Moving makes you live longer.

There's nothing wrong with writing a novel.

Do both if you can.
