Why is it the DNC doesn't seem to be able to field a better candidate?

Because progressivism is a mental illness, and it completely obliterates the ability of an individual or a group to think logically, reason linearlly. or make sound decisions. They are simply incapable of thinking straight.

The GOP is compromised and almost as messed up as the Democrats. We really are under a uniparty that they run to keep most of us still believing that we have a choice.

Choice my a$$! Politically speaking, we have to choose between a slow death by a thousand cuts or fast death by a shot in the back of head.

In this case, I'd say because there just aren't that many decent people willing to step into the steaming pile of feces that is the DC cesspit.

Back when Ben Carson was running, I really liked him, but I said I wouldn't vote for him for president because he was obivously much too decent a human being for Washington, D.C. No decent human being could wallow with those pigs and come out clean. He'd end up like a Mason Verger to the Hannibal Lector that is Washington, D.C., and the pigs of D.C. would devour him.

Trump is, IMO, no saint, not a decent human being on the level of Ben Carson, but even if his motives are not altogether altruistic, I say let him at 'em. He knows how to play their games, and hopefully will be wiser in choosing his allies if he gets a second chance. If it comes down to it, I'll vote for him - and he can thank Alvin Bragg among others for that!

They have a pretty good bench. I like Scott. I like DeSantis. I'd like to see a ticket with either or on top.

Im hoping that Trump isn't the nominee, but it seems inevitable.

One does not need to be a doctor to spot crazy. Crazy announces itself from the rooftops. There was a day when, in the United States, people hid crazy in a back room or locked it up in a facility where they treated it and tried to fix it.

Now days, we sit it on the front porch in the big rocking chair, put a mint julep in it's hand, and tell every passer-by how proud we are of it.

If you can't see the crazy all around you, I hereby diagnose you as crazy, too, sans medical qualifications. Because I can.

HA!

Now days, most people are so incapable of rational, independent, critical thought that very few actually think through their decisions in a logical manner.

As to feelings, most people's feeling have been hijacked by mass media, social media, political diatribe and manipulation.

Most people just do what they are told.

Take the shot! Wear the mask! Support the war in Ukraine. Take your children to see perverts gyrate on stage and walk around naked. Cheer men competing against women in organized sports. Take the drug of the day (illegal or state-sanctioned, it doesn't matter).

They calmly reply, Yes, overlords, we will obey ...

"what they think or how they feel..." What a joke! Most people are incapable of either independent thought or original feelings.

I guess the only thing anyone could do to prevent this manipulaton is shut down their computer and turn off their TV.

But then only ignorance would be possible.

The solution is not to "shut down their computer and turn off their TV," and being misinformed is worse than being uninformed.

The solution is take a good look around, gather all information possible, then think critically, analytically, and independently about the information at hand. The problem is not what is coming over the computer and TV. There have been lies and propaganda as long as there have been governments and powerful people interested in maintaining their hold on power.

The problem is that very few people are willing to look critically at what they are being told and discern what it really means.

I could give examples ( see my previous posts), but I've come to learn that people who need examples really don't want to see them and will ignore them when given (like a wise man once said about throwing pearls before swine). Those who understand don't need examples. Look out there. If you see what's happening, there is hope. If you don't, I have nothing more to say but; Enjoy the ride, as it's gonna be a rough one.

Show me a democrat that draws these kinds of crowds in BLUE counties.

Wait, you cant?

LOL rallies in South Carolina don't mean # in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. All of which have been identified as likely battleground states for 2024. which means likely whoever wins 4 or more of these states wins the election based on anything close to 2020 numbers.

Tell me the 4 battle ground states he wins?

South Carolina is one of the states that gets the most federal assistance and welfare. Currently SC gets 22.7% of its entire budget from federal welfare.

What this means is that wealthier states that do better and have higher income, like California, end up subsidizing welfare for the poorer states that don't do so well on their own.

South Carolina is one of those poorer states that get a huge amount of federal aid in order to function.

Link

I'm not saying SC is not beautiful to live in, it's probably gorgeous, but it doesn't get that way on its own. Other states help make it that way.

There's a whole lot of truth there.

It wouldn't matter the name, it's the support of the name.

I've made no secret of the fact that I don't care for Trump, in the slightest. But I have to admit, he did better than the idiot that's in office now...

I've no screaming need to see yet another retread in office. Or a President who would be a lame duck instantly--both Trump and Biden fit that slot nicely.

How about someone, oh I don't know, new?

Truth.

I liked many of Trump's policies, and if someone else came in with the same policy agenda, I'd support them.

Which is the problem for the left.

Brah, they don't like us.

Most people, when they vote, try to make the country better, by their own definitions

But a portion have a very warped definition of the word "better"
Liberalism is a mental disorder .

Every Republican candidate since Ford has been described as a war mongering killer who wants nuclear war, is racist, will start war after war and will bring slavery back to the USA all while being the worst Nazi ever, including Hitler. Expect this to continue until the Democrat party is forced, kicking and screaming, into change.

Ok, so take Biden or Kennedy or Williamson, or Newsome to any blue county anywhere you pick.

You wont draw a crowd like Trump did in SC.

Im not wrong.

You just went high and wide talking about battlegrounds. Im pointing out that there is no energy anywhere for any democrat.

And you feel like that is something to feel good about?

"This is your Dear Leader and you will follow him".

THAT sounds like a cult.

In my psychology days, people that do things assume others do the same. If you cheat on your spouse you think everyone is doing it, if you are in a cult you think everyone else is in one too. The left tries to make crazy a norm and then says well it's the majority while the majority just says WTF. Even Bill Maher a true Trump hater been saying WTF for like 2 years now.
