I don’t know about the specifics, but there does seem to be some universal law of reality at work.
I think it is because it is the destiny of all human beings to be free. It all depends on one’s understanding as to what freedom actually is. The first thing is that freedom involves tremendous responsibility - on a personal level. People generally want to avoid recognising that responsibility.
The whole social system as it is, exists because people are immature and seek pleasure at any cost. This is the time where man is at the season of a new phase of growth from a sapling into a mighty oak.
The time of nursery rhymes and bedtime stories is over. If the opportunity is not recognised and lost and people cry for the continuation of the past, then the wheels will turn in a different direction.
Nature abhors a vacuum they say and if you don’t eat the bear, the bear will eat you. It is because man’s destiny is to be free that freedom will be removed if not acted upon. What will happen and has been happening is social control accelerating towards total control of what it means to be human. The spokesman has already spoken: “to redefine what it means to be human.”

I’m sure everyone has had the experience of being given the challenge of making a decision and deciding poorly and then living to be punished by the consequences. Whatever comforts we have known under the waning old system will be removed. The sadist now will dream up the rules of engagement. The recipe is simple: whatever they like, do the opposite. If they love eating bugs then force them to eat beef. Etc etc.

The ultimate future projection I think, is H.G. Wells’ story of the Time Machine and Orwell’s warning of a boot stamping on a human face forever. What is meant by that? It sounds rather exaggerated. Or is it?

Yes, and it's the government that's taking advice by a bunch of political scientists and economists, and they're finding out what happens when they take the advice from a bunch of new age shamans. A war on agriculture is a war on everyone eventually.

You can be sure the 1% have their own private land for farming , far away from general farming . Probably on some islands, or who knows where. Their food production won't be affected.

I remember communism vividly. I was a teen during the height of the cold war and saw the images on tv of long bread lines in front on empty store shelves . Somber faces and a hopeless outlook.
Many think communism/socialism/Marxism , whatever you want to call it, is great. They feel they don't earn enough stocking shelves , so they think everyone should be reduced to earn the same , and these people suport DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion ) in order to bring everyone down to their level. They demand we are all equal and should only make the same and be able to live in the same small living area. These people would also support these plans , and they wills say 'for the greateer good', but in their hearts they are bitter and envious (and virutue signalling).

In other words, if many support this it will happen and many stores/businesses will close as a result. The amount of products on the stores shelves will gradually be reduced , and many won't even notice. The end result , and goal from the 1%ers is a greatly reduced supply of food /products , just like with any communist regime. The 1% want to destroy the small businesses, like started during covid lockdowns , so more and more falls in the hands of larger corporations.
In the end the large corporations will be either blackmailed by ESG scores to further fall into line with the plan to reduce production. The 1% want these large corporations to fall, so they can be bought out cheaply by the government and the government ends up owning all (communism).

Hope I'm wrong, communism is no different than being imprisoned.

sh@@ happens and that has not stopped me from drinking milk, eating eggs,chicken, pork green beans, or what ever i want.
the only thing that does hamper my life to a point is cost and that cause i refuse to pay the price their asking, but the issue is due to greedy bastards not letting the price go back down, cutting corners, no help, and several other things. it's not about bringing 9 billion people under control, it's about the dollar.

Some of the popular bug snacks aren’t half bad.
I remember in Korea the bar snacks tasted like pretzels with a pretty good flavored spiciness.
Then you turn on the lights and look a little closer, they’re good sized fried crickets. But they actually tasted good and weren’t far off from the feel of chips or pretzels.

Do you really believe that there is an actual left vs right in our government? You do realize that both parties are owned by the same masters. Year after year no matter who is in office, liberals never get their socialist utopia, and conservatives never get their limited government. Everything you see on TV that left vs right ever argues about never changes. However, if you look up all the bills passed each and every year with nearly unanimous approval from both left and right, always promote the master's plans. Both Democrats and Republicans always find unity when passing bills related to monetary policy, foreign relations, commerce, and trade. It's a slow boil and consolidation of power from the people to the elite and some of those upper elites want to see their dream come true before they die of old age and they are turning up the heat in the pot and some people are noticing. Most bills that get passed don't get news, however, whenever you see a huge story where you see bipartisan support you know its a decision made by the ultra-elite and the media will make sure everyone is on board. For example, I'm sure the next war we get into will be supported by both sides regardless of ideology.

With all of the incredibly interesting and educational content freely available online in the sciences, mathematics, music, entertainment, world politics and history.... who would take the time to read such garbage , let alone contemplate and consider it?

This fact itself, is the real problem. Instead of reality, lets just make some # up and see how many people get pissed off about it and how many will actually believe it.

If anything would be responsible for causing a society to fall flat on it's ass, this would be near the top of the list.

If this were the case, of course I would not support it, I think it is unrealistic and wishful thinking. However, you should know, that not a single Democrat I know supports this, either.

Republicans pull their fears of Democrats out of their ass half the time and they hold no water.

But on the off chance something like this happens, I'll be on your side of course. It would not be a smart move for Democrats, they would lose popular support.
