well no, the person I was responding to said other 'legitimate' slurs were allowed on twitter.

So I asked why cis isn't a legitimate slur and who decides, in general, not just on twitter.

I kind of like it when someone calls me a boomer. Being 6'5" 290 boomer I typically just reply "and what do you want to do about it?" That ends all that rather quickly.

Dealing with it includes appropriate and proportionate consequences for the antagonist. What if they are throwing toxic and harmful labels at you in order to ruin your reputation, and even cost you your job? What if they threaten you or your families lives? Do you think that should be allowed? Is that free speech?

Excellent. As a normal adult human bloke I don't mind banning this nonce-sense. To pander is to endorse the delusion.

Couple of quotes from the dumpster dive Twitter:

There's a reason the prefix "trans" is used. It is a clear distinction between biology and how someone has chosen to live their life. The LGBTQ...community claims that they just want to be allowed to live how they want, and to exist. I fully support that, but that doesn't mean I have to accept the notion that Elliot Page is a man in the same way I am.

I am a man, and Elliot is a trans man. Why can't that just be the end of the conversation? By tagging biological genders with "cis" or other prefixes, they're trying to push some false narrative that gender is based on feelings over biology. The alternative idea of saying to use "non-trans" instead of cis is not only laughable, it's the next line to push past to suggest what? That trans is the norm, while non-trans is the exception to the rule?

I learned that I got the Twatter ban-hammer yesterday. No idea why, I haven't tweeted since 2014.

find it all fascinating, we have 2 arcs in play a protestant type reformation in the usa and english type reformation in the UK.

as with all religions there are special terms for unbelievers, in a modern context we have cis..

my perspective is growing up as a catholic within sight/sound/smell of lewes/ with a family merged with continental protestants, irish catholics with american christians... to each group i'm the outsider and there is always a word (punch/kick) to denote the outsider, never catholic enough for the Irish all the way to too catholic for the protestants and not christian to the Americans..

through that lens its easy to see how misaligned most groups are and how the Aussies/new zealanders and canadians are caught as high church catholic countries between the 2 reformations..

if history teaches us anything its to be prepared for a rough ride

The only issue I have with it is that side made it up on the fly and they are all up on pre-assuming about someone, but here they go with their own that they say is OK while anything else is not.

The bigger issue with it is that they cannot call a biological woman a real woman, because a real woman can now have a dick too, so once again they invented something to suggest a biological woman is just one of many real women.
