I was raised in the Catholic Church as well.

My belief now is that Hell is the total absence of God [all that is good].
To me, that would be worse than hellfire.

This. I had a dream--or something--a while back and it was that Hell was total separation from God---who is all that is good as you mention.

The dream came with a demonstration of what that felt like. It was the darkest, coldest, ugliest, hopeless, truly horrifying feeling I've ever had. I woke up and hit my knees. I consider that experience a great mercy as awful as it was. I pray multiple times pretty much every day for myself and others that I/we are never separated from God.

Yes. Its desires are always granted. If desires are to return to this realm. The spirit will be again be entrapped into another ego-mind (second death) and it will experience life here again. If the spirit does not desire anything in this realm, it will attain life, in higher realms.

Since 2018 I believe in a Supreme Being aka God. I also believe in reincarnation, life after death, past lives and more. In May 2021 I met what several priests and PhD's said was my Twin Flame. I felt unconditional God's love as channeled through her to me as per my conversation with Father Robert Morey of the Catholic Diocese of Charleston, SC.

Father Dennis told me that he feels that I am Spiritually gifted at the far right extreme end of the bell curve among all Christens on earth. He told me to stay away from the Jehovah Witnesses as I would lose my Spiritual protection by the Catholic church.

I don't know much about Hell-Fire but here's a good link.

Sound advice methinks.

Plus if you swap to that side you will also lose any Christmas presents, so there is that.

Jokes aside Waterglass, i envy you the peace of mind that your religion and faith obviously brings you.

hellfire in older Biblical context is fire/lava/brimstone
hellfire in a modern thought bubble might be high energy particles i.e. Gamma Ray radiation such as the jets of energy radiating from a Black Hole source...

the same BH might serve as the 'Abyss' of Hell itself....a containment structure with only 2 openings filled with deadly-damaging Gamma radiation which destroys spiritual bodies of imprisoned Demons/fallen angels

look at Hell & torment and the Lake-of-Fire with a modern Physics lens of explanation & Quantum reality rolled into the mix

Are you suggesting that I can commit all kinds of moraly repugnant acts or sins and there are no consequences besides those imposed by other men?

The bible says you reap what you sow, but that doesn't mean being tortured forever with fire.
The bible says we reflect God's qualities who is the Father of all sentient beings.
No sane father would take their Childs hand and stick on a hot element causing third degree burns, even if they did something wrong, like slap their sister for example.

Similarly the very greatest punishment God will put on any person is eviction from this planet through death and non-existence. Nobody is being live tortured with fire forever.
The Church taught this doctrine to control people with fear, since people couldn't read Latin, Greek, or Hebrew they trusted the clergy class for centuries with this ideology, even purgatory, which is for sure not even hinted at in the bible and is a total fabrication to extract money and control ignorant people who are sincerely trying to serve God.

Thus the OP is correct.

That is really wonderful. I recently had a walk with an older brother of mine I hadn't seen in almost two decades. And we talked for hours. And he told me his story on his path to find God. All his life he was an atheist. But he too now knows that God exists. He has felt His love in his life.

He is gently calling to all rightly-disposed ones to himself. Prophecy refers to this as his shaking of the nations and drawing all the desirable things to himself:

"“For this is what Jehovah of armies says, ‘Yet once more—in a little while—and I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.’ “‘And I will shake all the nations, and the precious things of all the nations will come in; and I will fill this house with glory,’ says Jehovah of armies."-Haggai 2:6-7.

Each one of God's servants he draws to himself individually. One does not just become a servant of the true God Jehovah. And not just anyone is able to carry Jehovah's blessed and great Holy name.

This is for you Waterglass. Have a peaceful and blessed day:

A few years ago a brother was at our Hall giving a talk and he used that word, "emulate" describing what we try to do with God's qualities in our life. Afterward a brother approached him, my son was there so he told me about it afterward and explained to the speaker that to emulate means to try to equal or surpass, thus it is not proper to say that we try to "emulate God." We do try to imitate the Christ, sinfully so. But we do try and imitate God's qualities of love and loyalty, and many others in our life.

The OP is a JW, he should be the one to answer, but if I remember correctly, they believe that they are the only ones that get to go. Unless you join them, you’re toast. OP can feel free to refute that if he wants, but I doubt it.

144,000 is not a lot of people when you consider how many humans are alive today and have ever lived.
But I understand the belief structure goes beyond JW's

It goes like this

1)1st century Jewish converts to Christianity.
2)Gentiles in the first century that converted to Christianity
3)Basically heretics like Tyndale that were persecuted by the Church
4)16-18th centuries many were getting closer to truth, non-Catholic
5)19th century "Bible Students"
6)Mid-20th century to today only baptized JW's

As you can imagine the bulk of the number of the 144,000 were filled up even before JW's took on the name, there are even less JW's going to heaven than the people from those groups I listed.

I find the hardest thing modern christens have to wrap their heads around is that they just won't be going to heaven, if faithful they get to live forever on earth in perfection and paradise, just like Jesus told the criminal dying beside him who repented as they were both dying.
Luke 23:43

And he said to him: “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise.”

That criminal is not in hell, but awaiting the promise Jesus made to all that would die.
John 5: 28&29

Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, 29and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment.

The interesting point here is that many think the experience judgment part means they are judged on their past sins, but this is wrong, because Jesus forgave the criminals sins but he hadn't done anything good other than make a deathbed repentance, no he will be judged on what he does after he is resurrected. Where is he right now, sleeping in death, waiting for the call.

Job 14:13-15

13If only You would hide me in Sheol

and conceal me until Your anger has passed!

If only You would appoint a time for me

and then remember me!

14When a man dies, will he live again?

All the days of my hard service I will wait,

until my renewal comes.

15You will call, and I will answer;

You will desire the work of Your hands.

Sheol is not hell, Job asked to go there basally he was asking to hide in death until he could be resurrected to a better time, he was confident in the resurrection of the righteous.

My peace came to me after decades of a good but tough life. I was told by Father Morey in August 2021 that I have been under a Spiritual Attack as spell or curse was placed on me since the 2nd grade. I know who did it to me and why. The result of sexual trauma by an older boy. I took off so he didn't get me. I don't know what ever happened to the young girl

Father Morey is also a Vatican trained exorcist and former US prosecutor attorney for the DEC. He was at our home to check me out. He blessed our home and said the above.

I have since returned to the church and practice what he told me to do so as to be under the protection of the Catholic Church.

I met my according to Morey and four other PhD professionals that I met my Twin Flame in May 2021. I felt Divine energy through her. It wasn't sexual nor have I ever touched her. That event pushed me tp contact the church and three PhD's for an answer to what I experienced.

I have since learned a lot about who, what and why about myself. I am at peace. My life experiences are now published in both peer reviewed journals at York University in London UK and on other pay web sites such as SubStack. Dr. Brooks wants my permission to launch my two hour interview on her Podcast. the Dali Lama follows here Twitter account. I am still on the fence on the Podcast.

Has anyone stopped and thought If any of this is true we are In Hell at the moment could be the reason we have different life spans , So many demons that can torture us from the microscopic to the big ones that can eat us not to mention our own stress we cause ourselves .

I think the worst torture for me is know that there is more , More to us and more to this universe and not able do utilize things our planet is literally a prison .

Hell is simply an allegory for the womb and the process of reincarnation. This is what the Bible actually teaches through and through.

If One wishes to get past the lies and the dogmas that the Churches tell, they must be willing to accept that the Unsaved come back...

Well, im glad it's working for you Waterglass.

I always thought Catholicism as a religious tradition, did not endorse, promote, or believe in the use of spells or curses nor any powers they may hold over us.

With the theology focusing more on the power of prayer, sacraments, and the intercession of the saints.

Sorry, to hear about the past sexual trauma all the same and glad you have made headway in dealing with the issue.

As to the Dali Lama, was he not just caught not that long ago asking a young boy to suck his tongue?

I don't know how much faith i would place in anything that man had to say after that incident to be honest.

I mean i realise other people's customs are not our own and can sound rather strange to people from other places but by my guesstimation asking a kid to suck anything on your person is paramount to being a nasty pedro in my book.

Good luck with the interview and podcast all the same.

Hellfire describes the intense discomfort consciousness experiences, when it attempts to shift into a frequency of existence that is higher than it was able to attain, during the course of its physical life.

Way back when the civilization that created all the crazy megaliths got wiped out or picked up their toys and left no trace of the tech that they had . There were story's verbal passed down from survivors or us Humans that they created or enslaved .

Those stories have been manipulated to fit the need of the political system of the day . priest kings and whoever else who wrote the Bible only included stories that fit their agenda many stories were not written in this "Spoken History book"

The Bible is the oldest political propaganda written Full of no truths half truths and plain out lies to control the populations .

It's a read between lines kinda book No lake of fire no heaven .

Wow. Only people who know nothing of the Bible show it so well in writing.

As you have done here.

The thing is the majority of the Bible is simply a rehash, reworking, or retelling of stories in religions that came before Christianity.

Like Zoroastrianism for instance never mind a few other polytheistic religions that can be traced all the way back to the Sumerian pantheon.

Can you explain dispensationalism off the top of your head?

If you can't no big deal not many can.

I have to say once you go deep enough into the Bible. it is the most amazing
book anyone could ever read. I'm no Bible thumper but I know this to
be true. The intelligence involved is obviously more than humanly possibly.
46 authors over thousands of years achieved a cohesive account as inspired
by what consistently is one author.

I find it no less than stunning to be honest.

He used the following words, witchcraft, spells, curses, twin flames, reincarnation, past life, ouija board, soul mate, magic and many more. I never thought the Catholic church recognized those things but they do and they take all seriously as in they exist.

As to the Dali Lama

Yes he was as that was reported. Possibly for a moment he got the "joe biden's" and like uncle joe he still has clout along with power. So wassup with him who knows as here on earth the good / evil ratio is 50 / 50 between God and Satan as per Father Morey. It is our own path that we choose to take as that isn't planned as we have our own free will. So whoever wrote that God knows every step in our journey was lying.

To be honest Saloon, i had to google the word.

From what i recall about the Bible, there are a few perils of wisdom in there.

Gospel Of Thomas springs to mind.

"I am the light that is over all things. I am all: from me all came forth, and to me all attained. Split a piece of wood; I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there."

But the books are also laced with control constructs, mass genocide, fratricide, incest, and all manner of other nasty horrible things we find deplorable in this day of age.

Stunning is one way of putting it i suppose, then again the same could be said regarding the Koran and most other religious texts that at the end of the day are the product of man with all his fears and fallibilities laid bare.

Just to be clear, i was christened a protestant but I'm on the fence when it comes to belief in a creator and religion.

But like i said to the other fellow i imagine it bestows enormous peace of mind and brings you a measure of comfort.

It's an interesting book with no real doubt about the fact of the matter, some parts through are best not to be taken literally by my guess because that's when the problems seem to arise.

Well, you live and learn i suppose.

I'm not touching the qanon Biden nonsense as there is no sort of real proof the man is a beast and it has been debunked a few times now.

Now where freewill is concerned, well the problem associated with that and gods ineffable plan is that they are not exactly synonymous with one another.

But its an interesting conundrum, my thinking being all the same and somewhat seemingly in line with your own, if you know in advance which way someone is going to jump, what they will do, and will go on to do, and made them that way for a purpose, then that hardly amounts to what i would call freewill.
