The "insignificant smaller actions", of which there were at least hundreds of, added up significantly numbers wise. I dated a girl in HS whose mother , aunt and grandmother were in the death march from Kaiserwald to Stutthof. Her grandmother perished during the march. Per her mother's telling, "Less than half of the killed ever even made it to a camp". That was her direct quote that I'll never forget.

I never heard anybody claim 2.5 - 3.5 mill were killed in Auschwitz alone? 1.1 mill is the official number.

There's no mechanical effort involved in starving people to death. Those camps were mostly 'free workers' not everybody ended up in the gas chambers just those that 'caused problems' did. Aside from that plenty died, like I said from starvation, experiments, torture, suicide, accidents...

As you can tell with alot of the responses. Makes a person wonder why it matters so much in terms of numbers. If I claim that 20 million jews were murdered by nazis does that make it better?

See the thing here is that like so many other things in the modern world, the narrative always matters more than the truth. And I don't even really know what the truth is but I get suspicious when no other data is allowed to question a narrative. Also, for some reason this narrative seems to matter more than any other. It's retarded.
